Do we even want Rankine? All the talk pre-draft was that we weren’t even keen on him because of attitude and blah blah.

True from all accounts but just imagine what Ken would do to him. What you can’t teach is natural talent and athleticism, which undoubtedly Rankine has.
haha bloody auto correct. Betcha can't guess what I first wrote.glory be
Given it'd be end of 2020 you're assuming we'll be more shit then the Crows then to trump them. Given the revolving door at GCS the best way to get on the front foot if they really are expecting Rankine to walk is to offer a player whose happy to go to GCS next year as part of the trade.Whoever wants him will have to pay up. We just have to offer more than they do.

Atley as someone not breaking through for games here, but would likely there is the type of player to consider. Not anyone 27+ or they'd say 'Why bother?'. Obviously wouldn't be all of the trade, we'd need to offer decent pick(s), but GCS need players who will stay first and foremost.
So it comes back to the usual one where you want to trade for a top player without using a pick. Which is:I was definitely thinking more in terms of trading a player rather than picks but Atley would have to have some significant game time between now and then for him to have any value.
Part of Clarko’s big sell to Chad: Join the Hawks and you will be not only a superstar but a superhero. I can see that appealing to him.how did they come up with that? they're a clever team at hawthorn
If Wings is AA this year and we miss finals, I think I will need to seek professional help
Given the tone of the players’ social media in the wake of Wines’ mishap, I wouldn’t be surprised if this lot throws games in order to increase post-season leisure time.

Wings is a spectator at training. Injured. Running hurts.

Funny how he gets a calf injury right around the time the Hawks wanted to increase his training load so he could play in the middle.
Probably thought he was doing enough to get a spot already.

I thought it interesting he had supposedly lost 7 kilos so quickly. I recall Ken mumbling something mid season about Wingard’s, sorry, Wings’ , body type requiring he keep a bit of weight on. It seems each club has a different approach to his physical program.Funny how he gets a calf injury right around the time the Hawks wanted to increase his training load so he could play in the middle.
