Great.

This will buy him another 2 years.

This series is all a bit depressing isn't it. Not only are Sri Lanka at their cricketing nadir but they've had to play well below full strength, and suffer an embarrassing hit wicket dismissal to boot.

He made the same point after the Hughes incident, and without wishing to be disrespectful, if he'd gone back and across for a traditional hook, it's likely he'd still be here.

It's the pros and cons with helmets. They obviously protect the batsmen from head injuries but they discourage proper evasive action or (as you said) proper technique. Obviously the pros far outweigh the cons but it's awful seeing blokes get hit flush when they don't need to.

Helmet complacency. People think they have more time to decide what to do with the short ball because they think the helmet means they can just get hit, rather than ducking or committing to the shot immediately.
Anyone who had been hit even with a helmet on does not thinks they can get hit and be fine.

Geez that's a soft wicket.

Also, I reckon Dickwella would be infuriating to bowl against. Seems to play a lot of ridiculous or arsey shots and often seems to get away with them.

And they’re ensuring that some of ours will hold their place for the ashes when they shouldn’t
