I reckon it's actually more likely that Nick Coffield will end up being somewhat of a reboot of previous cult favourite Justin Peckett, and not just because he moved into the number one guernsey and bears a slight resemblance to him with his dark curls, long face and brooding confidence.

By the peak of his career, "Frankie" along with his partner in crime Matt Young, was respected as an offensive backman to the extent that opposition strategy only started to thwart his influence once they sacrificed one of their forwards to tag him. His run and linking play was a shining light among a lot of fairly average play in the St Kilda backline, as I remember it anyway.

I can't remember if Nick Coffield is a runner or not, but I do have a preference for defenders who want to be midfielders and who are comfortable setting up attacks, and that is really going to be Coff's strength with his decision making. He may not make it into the midfield full-time, but the fact that he's happy to get a gig anywhere in the team suggests he's going to find himself selected regularly when he is ready.

I'm looking forward to seeing that number one streaking down the wing with his head up looking for options again very soon.

today on Perth radio 882 6PR i was on the lunchtime show chatting about the Nicky Winmar statue for optus stadium and our push to try and get it unveiled for our round 3 match against the Dockers in Perth ... with only 50 odd days til that came its a bit of a long shot but the main item that i was really trying to push across was the need for the unveiling of this monument to Nicky to be inclusive of the St Kilda footy club and our WA supporters ...

Thank you

Yeah I dont know where they get the figures from but I believe its often the club websites themselves which just dont really ever get updated.

Riewoldt for example was forever listed at 193 but is more like 195/6 when you see him standing next to 196cm Bruce. Membrey as well is 188 listed but I reckon he is more like 190.
Classic preseason discussion, love it. Needs barrels providing specific photos to assess....

It's unbelievable.

I'm an hour into Plugger's 3 hour highlights and it is some of the best stuff I've watched. An amazing trip down memory lane.

Have to agree, the Plugger highlights reel is amazing. Just finished the whole Milne one as well and as a highlights package it is arguably better, not suggesting that Milne is better than Lockett as a player for one second, but the highlights package was seriously amazing.

What I find amazing about Milnes highlights are his goals . I’ve watched lots of his highlights videos and the amount of goals from snaps that he kicks that the goal umpire doesn’t have to move because the ball goes straight over his head is unbelievable. We all know Plugger was a great kick at goal but I don’t think many people realise just how great Milne was . Even from tight angles his snaps go straight through the middle . And you have to remind yourself that he as a small forward as well . I wish we had him now , imagine him and Gresham in the same forward line , sigh !!

Don’t Panic !!
