2019 Memberships Released

It’s a great effort but Blues supporters can sniff a bargain. Upgrades from 0 games to 3 games and from 3 games to 11 games represent real value. I think the first option is around $20 per game and the second option is around $9 per game. It would be a brave move but I think the club should do it again in 2020.

Just a question for people who may know

I have never purchased a 3 game membership and have no idea how it works
could you say buy a 3 game membership and use all 3 games on getting 3 people into 1 game ?

I've been a member since the start of 1995, but my badge says 11 years :drunk:
If you've been a member every year since, email the club and get it fixed. I had a similar thing with my AFL membership.

The club gets the information from the AFL, where a junior member is a different type of membership, the AFL only handed the club the adult membership details, so I was missing years on my badge. Emailed the club and got it fixed for last season, was an 11 year member and then suddenly a 23 year member, despite the length of membership always being correct on my membership card (sent by the afl, not the club)

Or you weren't a member for a year so the pin reset at some stage.

No. Single ticket holder only for membership cards.

However, instead of getting a cap or scarf you can ask for x2 GA tickets, which will let your guests in for free to one match.

Or buy a 3 game membership before round 1 which automagically becomes an 11 game membership due to the free upgrades.

The reason for asking is that we always go to the Carlton Richmond games and just thinking it would be good to go with ll the families and that could be a good idea to get the GA tickets and have the money going to a club rather than the AFL which in turns gives it to North,GC & GWS

Thanks drunkill, I'm actually gonna call their membership dep't to get it all sorted.

The interesting stats would be to compare membership revenue. More numbers doesn't always mean more money.
The club is taking a ~1.5m hit in providing these upgrades to members, that was before it was expanded to every member so probably costing us a bit more now.

Which is a good thing otherwise a lot of people would not have renewed this year. A short term spend to stop people from cancelling.

My daughter just got a birthday card from the blues.

Fan engagement and family engagement going up a notch. Great work Liddle
Sounds like we are finally getting it.

Thats correct and a very smart move by the CFC , It comes at a time where they are coming off the worst season in your history and at a time when the members are likely to fall away. To stop this they have taken a very smart approach to not only keep the members on board but to give them the experience of an upgrade so when the club is more competitive these members will likely want to stay at the higher level of membership.

2019 & 2020 is extremely important to keep the numbers up and to have members considering staying at the upgraded membership

True we take the free upgrade cost hit, but we have also increased membership numbers significantly. The revenue from those extra numbers should hopefully make up the difference.

I'm sure Liddle has crunched the numbers inside and out, and would know how much increase we would need for it to be seen as a reasonable thing to offer.

If we can really engage the members though and keep most up on their new level next year it will pay off big time.

Getting the money in early is also a win in revenue

Probably/hoping most will become auto-renewals and, because people are too lazy to change or we get better as expected, people will stay financially involved with the club.

Need critical mass for this to be effective, hence the discount offer.

If it’s the same strategy he used at Richmond then we just need to win games and the rest takes care of itself.

Have no idea if it was or not but it’s a clear sign of thinking outside the box

The upgrade idea probably equates to 70% of why the growth has been this big. Would have kept a fair few who otherwise would have had a hissy fit over last year and walked away.

Rest will be because the club hasn't flinched like it used to. Only big changes are Russell and visually the results are obvious.

22.5% year on year growth certainly looks nice, but membership revenue growth won't be that high, if it has even grown at all.

That being said, the value proposition will shift next year sightly, and revenue should rise. This is about re-establishing the brand and experience, and the football department needs to see that through.

There's probably some cultural issues to address however, given how hard the crowd got stuck into Garlett yesterday. We've still got a pretty short-tempered and short-sighted supporter base some 24 years from our last premiership.

Yeah, I heard a bit of that. A bit of unsavory commentary being thrown at a few other players too.

I also really enjoyed a couple of supporters critising Levi for 'leading to the wrong spot'... without realizing that the reason he wasn't in a position to take a mark in the forward line was because he was rucking and the ball had only left the square seconds earlier. "why is the dumb **** all the way up in the middle, how does he think leading all the way there is going to do anything?!" The poor bastard was still within 10m of the other 7 guys who were at the centre bounce with him.

Supporters are sick and tired of elemtary skill errors, fumbling and poor determination. Our proud club has had to persevere and accept below standard performancees for far too long.
Although the attitude is crude and primordial, can’t really criticize supporters to hard. CFC has to get going quickly, supporters won’t accept, a few miserable wins in a season, too much longer.

That's a horrible approach to have towards a developing environment. Supporters should be able to distinguish between a failure to try, a failure to manage basic execution, and a failure to manage high-level execution.

Garlett's efforts were very much the latter, in a new position at the start of pre-season matches. That's not reasonable, at all.

Some of the kicks just weren't even on. There was one time he was under pressure and elected to kick across the goal whilst on the verge of being tackled.

Some really poor decision making and panic mixed with a lack of execution.
