I thought that under the new medevac act, if 2 doctors say he's ill, then he gets sent to Nauru.

Apparently theres no send back to Nauru clause (or so the LNP claim)
However, you just need one medical professional (can be GP/ mental health nurse) and we can "lock him up". Of course that will mean he will go to the nearest gazetted emergency department to be seen by a psychiatrist, who if he agrees he is unwell he gets involuntary psych admission

It's not a "no sendback" clause. It's the fact that it lacks a "sendback" clause. It's an issue of omission, not commission - though the end result is largely the same.

History has shown that only around 20% of people who Dutton did bring to Australia for treatment were ever returned to the islands. In effect, the lack of a "sendback clause" isn't the issue that the lying LNP are making it out to be.
