Does anyone under the age of 50 still buy it?

I reckon you and CrazyGeelong are Sky's number 1 fans.
For vastly different reasons.

Speaking of , where is that bag of nuts ?
Haven't seen him here for weeks

Be f'n hilarious if his dad punted him from the family business and replaced him with a non-Anglo Labor voter.

Poor G_Crazy, what would he do? Cut back on oil massages?

You know things are bad when even the conservative editor of the only daily paper in one of Australia's most conservative states is using the front page to call you out.
Hasn't been mentioned on sky this morning at all that i can tell

That's because you need to understand that this is actually conservative billionaire turf wars - Bishop belongs to Stokes, but Porter belongs to Murdoch. This is Stokes making sure he doesn't lose control of the WA party to Murdoch, by ensuring Porter isn't able to save himself with a jump to a seat he can win.

Funny that it got leaked on the same week then

GC- Porters looking at internal polling suggesting wipeout in Pearce.

Porter has friends in Curtin

Bishop's plan was to go another election, then if the numbers went bad retire causing by election.

The above polling comes out- Bishop goes I dont want Porter to get my seat so Im out of here

Surely in a straight Stokes vs Murdoch battle the latter would easily triumph.

Interesting point, though, which explains the West's attitude to the story.

Rumours Pyne may quit Parliament in a week or two
Laundy to follow

Laundy already has a decent local following - would put another seat in the firing line.

The 'moderates' are quickly losing all their relevance and strength in the federal caucus. Could get purged depending on who rolls Scummo.

It's going to be very interesting to see who ends up as Leader of the Flopposition after the election.
Bozo the Clown - No. Nobody gets re-elected after owning the biggest electoral wipeout in 40+ years.
Abbott - No. Will lose to Steggall. Can't be PM if you're not an MP.
Mr Potatohead - No. Will be voted out by the good voters of Dickson. Can't be PM if you're not an MP.
Bishop - No. Already announced her retirement.
Cormann - No. He's a Senator, and the PM has to come from the HoR.

Who does that leave?

Frydenberg and Angus Taylor both have friends but have both looked like dills lately. It's hard to see why you would want the job though, there's just so much more delicious, entertaining blood letting to come.

Porter, Bishop, Pyne, Downer...

Frydenberg is almost a sure thing if the election is a disaster for the Libs.

Re: Cormann - theoretically, he can resign from the Senate, contest a by-election, win the by-election, and then be chosen as PM by the party. However, I believe this has never occurred in Australian political history and would be electoral suicide surely.

Frydenberg seems set to receive the poisoned chalice, provided he can hang onto his own seat. That's not the certainty it should be, given what we saw in Wentworth & the Vic elections. Going in his favour is the lack of a high profile alternative candidate.

It's only been done once - John Gorton.
