Big test is the next 2 weeks. Need to get at least 4 points from Tottenham and United I think to keep ourselves in the hunt for top 4.

Would certainly take 4 points from those 2 fixtures if offered now. Huge games.

I was watching EPL legends yesterday and they had Sol Campbell. Gee he was bloody good at his peak but the bloke had some tickets on himself. Reckons he was the best centre half in the world for 2-3 years.

As great as he was, he wasn't anywhere near as good as Nesta.

Still can't believe we got him.

Came here because Spurs didn't invest/match his ambition, and he had issues with George Graham.

His deal was about to come up and Sol offered Spurs a deal but they didn't like his terms, so met David Dein and Arsene, he liked where the club was going and the rest is history.

Did he say best in the league or world? Arguably, he was the best in the premier league at his peak, but agreed there not on a global scale.

"I was one of the best, and for two or three years the best centre half in the world." He believes this circa 2002.

In the EPL, yes I agree, not in the world though IMO. Stam and Nesta were floating around at that point too, Maldini was still playing in the middle then too IIRC.

He was also a bit miffed that he missed the captaincy o England for Beckham.

You can watch it on the Optus app.

Yes, I know the story, when I first heard it being rumoured my first reaction was absolutely no chance, then it got closer and I'm still in denial, he was their captain for gods sake. It really was the ultimate slap in the face. And then it happened ! So straight to the shirt shop to get his name on the back.
