My world.
In his twilight games, I think he can and should play CHF. He's a class player, and staying put here could work well.
I have to agree, I think Taylor could be an excellent CHF.

The only advantage that SavRat has over Taylor is the ability to go in the ruck as a backup.

If we played Taylor as CHF, then I'd use Blicavs as the backup ruck, and swing Taylor into defence when Blicavs goes in the ruck. Keep Henderson down in Defence at all times, with Stewart, Henry, Clark, Bews, Tuohy with rotations.

Abbott will play as a 2nd ruck instead of Fort anyway (if we go with 2 rucks which I expect we wont).

I'd play Henry forward and i agree on the rest.

I think Henry forward is the move that we wre being pushed in. Over strength down back with two mature who probably show their best down there..let alone Blitz. Henry has hops and although not a natural forward offers a point of difference. For the percieveable future I think he is going to have to be a guy who plays forward ..maybe when the Harry and Hendo go there will be a spot

I get the feel there may actually be a few more kicks into the backline this year ...quick entries etc.. so maybe a bit of extra height will not hurt as much as players being too short ?

We need marking options forward of centre... and unless we move Taylor up there like Vdubs wants ... who else is there. Id like to give Buzza a go V Ess but unless he has fixed his marking ..I think he appears very unreliable.I wonder if the night games are worse for him than day games.

This is a bit out of left field, but Clark could potentially take Tuohy's rebound tasks in the backline, allowing him to move forward or wing.
I think Tuohy would score more goals than someone like Rohan or Dalhaus.

Given Clark looks ready to go, I think this is an option that must be seriously considered. Zach could bring some real drive through the middle and punch the ball long into F50 multiple times during a game. Whilst also drifting forward and bombing some long goals himself.

You then can look at something like this for your back six...

Bews Blitz Kolo
Stewart Hendo/Taylor Clark

While some still won't like that at all, it's miles better in my mind than pushing Kolo up onto the wing with Tuohy back.

Interestingly enough, last year he actually did. He kicked more than those two did combined.

So round 1 not far away. Right now the team I'd pick would be:

Kolo - Blicavs - Taylor
Stewart - Henderson - Bews
Duncan - Dangerfield - C Guthrie
Ablett - Hawkins - Parfitt
Rohan - Ratugolea - Dahlhaus
Stanley - J Selwood - Kelly
Clark - O'Connor - Menegola - Henry

I've left Tuohy and cockatoo out assuming they won't get up and could definitely use some VFL time first up.

Narkle is my most unlucky. I'd be tempted to drop one of the taller defenders for him. He's a talent and will get a lot of games when some injuries hit.

Atkins right now is like Dahlhaus but with less ball winning ability and not as good hands. He could come in at some point but I'm backing Dahlhaus to be a better option to start with.

Constable will also get games through the year but I'm not convinced he's got anything at this stage to make him stand out at AFL level. There was plenty of accumulation against the Eagles but not a lot of hurt factor and some of his decision making with the ball was too conservative. With us having a lot of midfield depth it's hard to get him time in there where he's at his best.

Scott Selwood has been a good servant and is an underrated player but I think the inclusion of starting zones will really hurt him. It's time for others younger players to take on the leadership mantle that he showed.

Clark, O'Connor and Henry have all shown high top end talent and that puts them a cut above other fringe players for spots in the 22 for mine. Narkle is similar and that's why he'd be my first cab off the rank.

Unless Dahlhaus does a Lazarus this week, Narkle will be taking his spot there methinks.

I'd have Taylor CHF, SS in for MOC, in fact SS in the centre, JS on hbf, Danger where you have him, Savrat bench,

Not disputing his quality. Playing chf is far, far harder when getting on in years.
Playing defense is much easier as the legs start to go. He can rely on his football brain to make up for his legs going. He played almost of all 2017 forward for very little reward. Why would we try that failed venture again? Makes zero sense

Im not suggesting Henry so much bc of the overtall defence. Its more our needs, he's a super interceptor but we have enough marking quality to cover him. Fwd we are too Hawkins reliant..Sav is coming back and still struggles with aerobic fitness he cant support Hawk all day every week. Other than Rohan we really have no other marking targets unless we play Danger fwd more. Buzza is a potato Kreuger might take time and Abbott and aFort are resting rucks. We need another reliable marking target to take pressure off Hawkins which Henry is. I liken it to Hurley who is A grade at both ends but probably slightly better in defence...ess had a bigger need there than fwd so they moved him there. My gut feel is the backline has enough quality to cope without Henry but the fwd line doesnt so if we are serious about winning a flag this year he needs to play fwd even if his best position long term is defence.

Apart from the goalkicking Taylor was very good up fwd.

Even though the backline performed well in terms of points conceded last season I think we will see a lot of change in 2019
The Clark selection and the way we moved the ball at times V Eagles suggests we are going to attack with quick ball movement - to do that we can't be as top heavy as we were last season
I think the mediums will be out of Stewart /Bews/Clark / Tuohy and Henry as the interceptor - all 5 could play at times
The talls get down to Blitz as the lock with only one of Taylor/Hendo and Kolo making 2 talls plus Henry as the interceptor/ 3rd tall
I really worry about Taylor - he looked in very good nick but whist he never looks athletic his running looked very , very laboured to be honest.
I'd go with 4 mediums ( 3 plus one on bench) , with 2 talls and Henry :)

I'm fine with FF, FP, anywhere he can fit in with Hawk and Sav. Nominal issue only, the way it goes, but a 3-pronged marking forward system could work for us if surrounded by GAJ, Parfitt and Dalhaus.

‘Carji’ Greeves Medal – Top 10
1. Mark Blicavs (234 votes)
2. Patrick Dangerfield (233.5)
2. Tim Kelly (233.5)
4. Tom Hawkins (229)
5. Joel Selwood (220.5)
6. Mitch Duncan (216)
6. Tom Stewart (216)
8. Jake Kolodjashnij (203)
9. Sam Menegola (200)
10. Zach Tuohy (194.5)

Any of your sides that does not have all 10 of these is wrong.
Kolo, Menegola and Tuohy despite all having critics are all :lock:

Don't be foolish and leave one off.

Haha. Nice try.
He’s kicked one from 25m directly in front, one from 30 on a 45 degree angle, one off the ground and two from ten metres.
If that makes him a good kick for goal your easily persuaded.
Nice try?- bags of 6, 5 and that awesome performance in one Q v Crows in their GF year. Let's face it, he has the smarts and marking prowess and kicking skills to be a KF.
