Based on last years form unless injured or recovering from injury, thought Abbott would be played.

Abbott missed a lot of pre season with a back injury.

Do we have any idea of the timeline? Very early reports he was looking great with that bit more bulk/muscle - then it eventually emerged that he was injured. I'm hoping he still had a bit of preseason or we won't get much impact from him this year.

That would be my team with the last player being Scooter or Narkle instead of Miers/Constable/O’Connor

Think it’s pretty clear where Taylor plays his best footy!

Was there really ever any doubt except in the minds of a few (quite a few actually) who rushed to declare him cooked, obviously ignoring the fact he was injured for most of last year; glad to see a few are starting to realise he's not quite ready for the scrapheap just yet.

Expect a cracker year from him provided the MC have the brains to leave him in his best position at CHB, where he's clearly our best option.

So you guy's would go for Bews Tuohy and S Selwood 3 players with no practice games...No thanks
This is a best team for '2019' thread not necessarily for round 1.

Has anyone reported on Shlensog ? It must be obvious to all and asundary that Scott doesnt rate the ruck .. have we had a fair dinkum dip at trying to get a quality ruck since he has been in charge? We have added Fort which is not bad in itself but I dont get the feel he is the new Ottens.

Having watched the JLT, my team if everyone is fit would be:

B: Bews - Blicavs - Stewart
HB: Tuohy - Taylor - Henderson
C: J. Selwood - Menegola - Duncan
HF: Ablett - Hawkins - Parfitt
F: Atkins - Ratugolea - Rohan
R: Stanley - Kelly - Dangerfield
I: Henry - Dalhaus - C. Guthrie - Clark
E: Cunico - Smith - Cockatoo

Clark was last picked and could miss for Cunico but I think it would be great to pump games into Clark this year, like we did with Henry last year. He shows great promise and I'd fast-track him. Cockatoo probably comes in if he can show persistent fitness but I have doubts whether that will happen. Kolo is first defender in if one gets injured but I don't like going too tall down back and Bews, while he has his detractors, is the best actual lock-down defender we have to combat smalls. Would love to see Hawkins prowling up the ground, using his marking skill and elite field kicking going into 50. Can easily push him deeper forward for patches if Esava is struggling or while Esava offers a chop out in the ruck. For mine, Atkins has to start. Loved his hunger and desperation and he can actually stick tackles - three traits I think have been missing from our forward-line for too long. Definitely going to be some players unlucky to miss but that's a great problem to have.

Getting closer now ...

B: Bews - Blicavs - Stewart
HB: Tuohy - Taylor - Clark
C: J. Selwood - Constable - Duncan
HF: Ablett - Hawkins - Parfitt
F: Atkins - Ratugolea - Rohan
R: Stanley - Kelly - Dangerfield
I: Henry - Dalhaus - Menegola - Cockatoo
E: Brownless - Guthrie - Henderson

Taking marks from forward 50's is so important .. id consider Henry forward if Rohan cant get it done. I have mentioned Brownless as an Emg but there are lots of player that could be here on form. Fogarty and Cunico and Jones and Narkle. If Constables form drops off then one of these would get a game..and Cockatoo is obvious fitness dependant

The best team I've seen so far.

You would have been happy with Rohans form in JLT2 ? Can he stay fit.. and fresh..but if he can he could kick 40 playing like that.
The new rules suit Rohan and I think he'll thrive in this team. Apparently he's happy playing at Geelong and it's the best he's felt in years. I think 40 goals is realistic.

I think he will get the ball supply too if he's played deep.

Swans are Buddy centric in their delivery in the past. Plus SCG is a shorter ground, suits goal scoring mids to a degree.

That side actually looks pretty decent... Our reliance on Stanley is so high though, bothers me.

What I'm gathering looking at these Best 22s that people (myself included) are putting up is that there's gonna be a whole lot of grumpy fans on selection night when Kolo is named ahead of any number of guys. I don't dislike Kolo by any means, I should clarify, but it seems there's a bit of consensus here that he's dropped out of our Best 22. A victim of Blicavs rise, Henry's arrival and Harry's durability. Just no spot for him, especially as I'd have Henderson in front of him still as a backman and any number of guys ahead of him on the wing.

As you elude to, it’s trying to find a position for him... he’s not really a KP player and is not mobile enough to be a running defender. I think that Henry really takes his spot. He’s far more reliable and a better reader of the play in my opinion. Also just a better defender. We need to add run to our back six so that further marginalises him.
