Great win by Sunlight wasn’t my bet but have to just take my hat off and say too good.

Avilius was awful but you wonder whether the change of rider was a factor. Well done to Kah on her first group 1 on Harlem.

A spectacular looking win to TAS in the Randwick Guineas no doubt, but there's something bugging me about it and it's the filly that ran 2nd.

He might go to a new level if tested out to 2000m, but for mine the way it was run Mystic Journey would've had him comfortably today.

I have always said the colts are terrible this year. The fillies are good and could be special. I think TAS and Hawkshot are clearly the best 2 miler colts and i actually dont think there is much between them just a very slight edge to TAS because Hawkshot will have to do it harder than TAS in the run given their racing patterns. Mystic Journey is special and rivals Alizee as the 2nd best horse in Australia, Winx would beat TAS by about 6 lengths in any race and there is zero chance of them meeting.

It might’ve cost him something, but he made up for that by getting cover and the superior ground. He never lost momentum, and Eduardo folded too early to cart him into the race on the outside. Hugh takes either option and he still gets beat.

He lacks any tactical speed and will always require an element of luck in the top grade. He’s a very, very good horse who just found one better today. It wasn’t a small margin and Sunlight deserves full credit.

on raw performances out of the racebook i doubt he has Kementari covered from last year, or at least on par. but he just looks like there's so much more in store, especially over further. he's going to start unders in most races but still probably win them until he comes out of 3yo grade.

Labelling MJ as close to the second best horse in Australia is absolutely laughable epecially when you downgrade Winx for beating nothing. Perhaps Helluva Street is top 5?

i'm not distancing, he's been a massive disappointment since his autumn 3yo. he held form in the spring with no improvement and his first up run IMO was terrible. he probably improved on his first run yesterday to run 7th.

but please go on tell me how the autumn sun's performances to date can be called vastly superior. fact is hes the best of an average crop who looks like he can improve a bit with distance. the way he gets ridden is conducive to massive unders week in week out and would need to improve on mass to be competitive at WFA especially to the standard of 1.6L Winx or 0.75L Happy Clapper over the randwick mile.
