However, I remember a long, long, long time ago. There was a thread on the cricket board, Australia v Sri Lanka at Bellerive. The session is dragging on and on. Someone then makes the suggestion that we should give Matthew Wade a few overs.

I used to live in Bathurst and at the first of two Bathurst 24 hour races in the early 2000s I was a spectator Marshall (there were only a few people there).

Around 1-2am my Dad and I were placed at the top of the esses as you come off skyline and my dad says to me “wouldn’t it be funny if a car come over the hill, locked the brakes, through the sand and into the wall”.

I kid you not, the very next car did exactly that. Gobsmacked my dad spits out “it would be even funnier if the next car did the same”. Sure enough the very next car repeated the act and ran into the other car.

No joke, couldn’t believe it.
