Just heard GAS’s official final goal tally has gone up by one goal from 1030 to 1031. A goal attributed to Richard Loveridge was in fact kicked by Ablett and 37 years later the records have been set straight

Similar thing occurred with Ken Farmer, legend of North Adelaide. A printing error in the paper all those years ago attributed one goal to a different player, and they retrospectively corrected his overall total.

Up until the 90s it probably happened more than you'd think.

The 80's and 90's were pretty backwards. Basically the world sucked until Windows 95.

Imagine being a forward and ending your career on 999 goals only to find out 30 years later you actually had kicked 1000

Or worse, having kicked 1000 goals and then finding out 30 years later you actually kicked 999 goals.

The AFL really has to do something about the speed of score reviews.

You never know Ron Todd may have been dudded as well

At Williamstown, Todd played 141 games for 672 goals, in the process playing in premiership sides in 1945 and 1949. In all, he played 217 games at Collingwood and Williamstown and kicked 999 goals

Maybe Huddo really did break Pratt's record, maybe Pratt's season tally is incorrect or they missed on for Huddo somewhere. If they missed one for Ablett in the 80s, maybe they missed one for Huddo in the 70s. Did they get Fanning's 18 correct on the day?

What was the umpire thinking? giving him 30years to take the shot instead of 30sec's

No. If he was a decent human being he would have owned up to getting handed a goal in his records he would know he never kicked himself.

Well, he is a lawyer...
