Rodda from Seagulls seems to be kicking a few. Doesnt look good for Austin on paper.
Obviously plenty of other things that dictate this but still doesnt look great.

Anyone there to give accurate account of Austin's game so far?

Austin has been poor lucky that Rodda has dropped a few that he got his hands to. Getting a bit of he ball but poor in the contest

Young with 4!!!!!
Get that man in the 1's
If he was a racehorse, and it was his first start, you would back him. Comes from the Wanganeen and O'loughlan lineage. I was lucky enough to spend a couple of hours with him at the sponsors day and based on his attitude towards football, I posted that I would would not be suprised in the slighest if he played in the Saint's colours this year. Looks like competition for the small forward spots is going to be fierce and I like that this young man has a fair bit of campaigner about him.

McKenzie, Newnes, Savage, Lonie, Dunstan and Pierce would all want to play well Sunday...

Competition can only be a good thing for the club.

Great to hear. Certainly am loving the competition for spots in the fwd half.
Hopefully we can get all the other areas to be the same

Bugger was hoping he would step up this year.
Are Hind or Phillips playing? Or are they both being carried over.

EDIT: scrap that Phillips just popped up on twitter

Parker, Lonie, Kent and Long all showed more during match sim at training and in the intraclub game.
Can't play them all.
Yes you can. That’s what pre season is for. We know exactly what we’re getting from 25+ yo’s at the club. Play the younger kids that are ready and the new recruits..

So don’t play those guys in practice games but then expect to be right for round one. Don’t think so. 28 guys played jlt. If you couldn’t make the list you are injured or lacking something in the 4 or 5 intraclub they had

With only 2 games, clubs were practising for rd1. If a player over the summer has shown they are behind quite a few in their position for round 1, then they don't get a game. If he had impressed more than the others during the rest of preseason, he may have got a game. But he didnt.

And while we know what we will get from the 25+ year olds, they are the ones who will be playing rd1 so they are the ones who need the match practise against otherafl bodies and the ones who need to practise implementing the game plan against foreign opposition.

As above. He had a semi-par intro club game. Who cares though? It’s one rubbish game in hot conditions. Play him in at least one JLT game and see what he’s got..
And don’t play who? The guys that will most likely play round one? Don’t think so. By the how do you know it was only poor game. May have been 4.

Understand all of that, but I disagree with the approach. I know what I’m getting from the majority of these players. 4 1/2 wins. I want to see what the others have. Obviously not Richo.

FULL TIME We hold on in the last to beat
@WilliamstownFC
by 22 points! Disposals: Acres 27, Seccull 24, Clark 23, Marshall 21, Armitage 20, Phillips 20, Paton 20. Goals: Young 4, Wright 2, Fox, Rice, Owens, Acres, Hille, Clark.
Without seeing a kick in anger it sounds good for a ruckman to get 21. Wish he played tomorrow

Seems to be going alright for Sandy. That’s what I would have liked to see in at least one JLT. I couldn’t care who we didn’t play. We had half the guys out first game and he still didn’t get a run.
