Once again it’s just totally unfair for the rest of the Sandy team to have Armstrong running around like a headless chicken. Putting a player like that into a professional competition is not player development.

O'Connell also been impressive. Winning clearances and very clean in tight especially by hand. A bit of Tom Green with the way he's playing atm in terms of style

Obviously Barrat is responsible for the entire backline like Wilkie is at AFL level

Therefore Barrat is Wilkie 2.0. Get excited

Have you ever heard of forwards and defenders sliding, Barrat might not have started on each but when it came to them taking marks he was their opponent. I hate seeing a kids confidence destroyed like Goddard and the club are doing with Barrat. They have expected him to play as an under sized full back every week and he has not looked comfortable.

Why not give the kid a break in the last couple of games and move him forward to free him up. He actually showed more as a forward than a defender in the U18's yet for some reason we have already pidgeon holed him, its really poor player development in my view.

16 touches for Fincher in the half, and his ball use and decision making has been good too.

Has been in most CBs so assume he's been playing on ball. (4 clearances as well )

Finally some good news.
As bad of a coach as I think Goddard is, good on him for putting Fincher in the position he's dominated in at school level. Pity he didnt get much of a chance at Sandy or Vic Metro there.

What a disgrace the Sandringham alignment has been - good riddance Zebras I never held any affilitiation to your club.

I think the alignment have played finals in one year and will finish second last on the ladder only above the Northern Bullants who shouldnt be in the comp.

Today we played a team (Essendon) who have 17 AFL players listed injured and more than half have missed most of the year and they started today a half game ahead of Sandringham on the ladder. Well the Sandringham team are about to get pumped by 12 goals by a side with that amount of turn over. So basically a 12 goal loss to the next worst team in the VFL how comforting.

WTF have the St Kilda FC let this sh*t fight fester as long at it has, its a disgraceful environment even for the more senior AFL lsted players.

Hopefully in the off season the club over hauls the entire program, does some decent recruiting and looks at Goddards performance in the coaching position. We will never compete with the better clubs when our reserves team remains such a disaster zone.

Agreed.

Maybe need to be careful not to judge Goddard to harshly though given what he's had to work with.

End of the season, end of the alignment with Sandy and I think end of Goddard as a VFL coach. During the year the game day setup looked very stagnant. Very interested in how the Saints go about setting up the 2026 VFL list. Fincher looked pretty impressive.

Should sign Zones and play him plus one of Steelo/Macrae and Stocker predominantly in the vfl next year. We should make it a massive priority of taking out the bfl in our first year.

I could see the value of players like Jones, Webster, Cordy retiring but remaining on as VFL signings

One could also say that its not fair on the Saints that Sandy have such a bog-ordinary list.

as long as it doesn't push him into the second round or higher...
