We went from being $3.00 on Thursday to $2.18 to win when the game started. Lots of smart money came in for us.

I thought the Lions were a good tip but chickened out. I went with Bombers and Suns as my upsets.

Yup was about to just post that. Very good at negating other rucks. Him and Ryder are a great combination.

The inside word I got from over here was we were very much up and about. The media gave us no hope here and the Crows all you have been hearing is top 4 top 4.... so the pressure to perform is right on.

Been big changes at Port over summer, Schofield and Monty coming back have been big for the coaching group.

They have forced change in a big way, the young kids are great but will probably tire out at some point. Lots of cramping yesterday.

The ruck combo is a big + for us too.

Anyway it is only round 1 so let’s revisit all these upsets in 5 weeks, always takes a few weeks to settle down.

Depends on the rest of your comp though. The leader could be on 2 or 3 so not much damage done.

I stopped going in traditional tipping comps years ago. This is where tip probability of winner and if you tip with a lot of confidence if you get it wrong, you really penalised big time. I will be below zero at end of round with 5 wrong already. I tipped Crows with 79% probability at home. I will be penalised -1.25 for that wrong tip alone.

More sensibly, I tipped Pies at 52% probability and lose 0-06 on that.. I got GWS at 65% chance to win. If they win, I only gain 0.38 points. That not going to make up for the big penalty of picks Crows with confidence and them mentally going to water after Clarkson played mind games with their fragile minds. My own fault. Should know 79% probability is asking for trouble in this even league.

Picked Dees at 68% Lose 0-64 for there too. I am in a hole to dig myself out of...ha ha. Half way to China down here.

What were the pre game odds? Would've thought Richmond the only genuinely strong favourite with the bookies.

Us vs Brisbane in Brisbane I would have expected to be 60/40 favourites at best. Disappointed to lose but it's not like it's a home game with us at 10-0 vs a team on 0-10.

Nankervis is not much better. He is okay around the ground but his tap work is well below par.

Nank? Maybe you haven’t watched him since he left the swans. If anything his tap work is his weakness but his work around the ground is fantastic. He’s rucked pretty much solo for the last 2 years and is one of our most important players. Still young as well.

Port and Hawthorn we’re both beyond $3 from memory so those were pretty comfortable favourites
