Scotty was never on our zone. He just refused to play for Centrals and they traded him to us for a player that never amounted to anything.

Another piece of Port history I got wrong, oh well not getting any younger!! But I think we had the Salisbury North zone at one stage? Really not sure why?

I was just shocked, Eddie inviting Dwayne to talk about Port was almost an admission that... it's the same club.
Eddie was very clear about differentiating between Port Adelaide and Port Adelaide from the past in the SANFL.

Russell jizzes over Betts because Betts is an exciting player. It’s like McAvaney and Rioli.

The thing is - I’d rather listen to a passionate call that is biased over drips like Roos who are analytical and biased. It was like he couldn’t fathom that Port were just a better side than Melbourne and thought that it must be a tactical failure on Goodwin’s part.

lol Bruce's love affair Rioli is so over the top that it spawned countless memes of a homo-erotic nature. That's exactly what I mean RE: Dwayno and Eddie. It's over the top.

I don't mind excitement but his commentary is borderline insufferable during Showdowns.

I don’t think Eddie has ever done anything but acknowledge we are the same club, he just doesn’t want us wearing our traditional guernsey.

I reckon that is spot on.

His issue/insecurity is around black and white stripes.

and don’t forget when the SANFL mysteriously gave us the Salisbury North zone to piss off Cenrals. We got a pretty good full forward - Scotty Hodges - from that deal.

He was from Salisbury West

Yes SN, as well as other clubs in the area, did come under the Port zone. And they did more for the local comp in the first few months than Centrals ever did.

SHAKE AND BAKE

SEN Breakfast Melbourne has Liam Pickering in once a week and he does his little media watch segment where he highlights various commentary moments. Dwayne gets a good run.

His finest moment last year was when Freo was absolutely towelling up Carlton and Dwayne goes “They’re going to need a safe word, Carlton.”

I remember hearing it live and Pickering gave it due respect in his segment.

That was a clever moment.

Repeating the same catchphrases over and over, louder and louder is not clever.

I can't take credit for this, unfortunately:

And fair enough too. If Gippsland Power wanted to join the AFL with a black white and teal guernsey we'd want our club to tell them to GAGF. The issue isn't Eddie, he's just fighting for his club as all good presidents should. The issue is that the AFL kowtows to him. Blame them.

I've always found Port supporters jumping on the Collingwood hate bandwagon to be a bit weird. Aside from their shitty record in Grand Finals, Collingwood are basically the Victorian PAFC. Direct your hate where it belongs, at shit corporate franchises like the Crows and West Coast, cheats like Essendon, or teams constantly kissed on the dick with amazing luck like Geelong or Hawthorn. Collingwood are okay.

It was Gavin Wanganeen that was from Salisbury North when we had the zone
