Bigfooty General Metal Thread Mk.VII

Been watching Death Parade. Half way through. Worth picking up if you see it.

Just looked it up on Wikipedia, the premise looks interesting. I'm really hanging out for something like Another, if you've come across anything in that vein.

Yeah will let you know if something pops up.

I’m watching the Madeleine McCann doco on Netflix. 8-part series. Engrossing stuff. Not sure we’re ever going to know what happened to this poor little girl.

Just completely ****ed up and it happens too often. That poor Tyrell child case here seems to be another one where the police probably know, but don't have the evidence to prosecute. World can be a pretty s**t place.

Phil Anselmo was excellent. Half 'Illegals' half Pantera set, lots of banter with the crowd up close and personal. Overall good vibe and excellent sound.
King Parrot put on a great show and Palm, who I'd never heard before, were great. Japanese band I believe. I'd be tempted to go again tomorrow night if I wasn't working.

Did he mention anything about NZ? Unfortunately a victim of circumstances.

Went into the Oztix site to grab Metal Church tix and got the shock of my life when it says "Allocation Exhausted" for General Admission. Only Meet & Greet remaining...oh dear. Anyway, grabbed GA from the venue itself. Catastrophe avoided. May pay to get in quickly (James you might be right and I will never doubt you again).

Prompted me to purchase.

Was a great night. The Illegals material went down pretty well, the place exploded when they played the Pantera stuff. Phil was in fine form, both vocally and the way he interacted with the crowd.

Thought The Dirt was OK. I'm not a huge MC fan though so I'm not able to poke holes in it too much. Couldn't tell you what's accurate and what's not but I think it was well done and not too cringey.

Its hard to tell, like The Wolf of Wall Street (incredible book) you'd swear they have to be making this s**t up but apparently not. The movie itself really skims over a whole lot of stuff. Only real Crue tragics would pick out the minor detail flaws (eg how Tommy met Heather Locklear - they shared the same dentist and he asked him for her number after meeting her at a party whereas the movie suggests they hooked up and a party; Tomy Zutuat signing them to Elektra after Too Fast for Love had been released independently by the band yet the movie suggests otherwise). It's a superficial movie no doubt but then again Crue were fairly superficial band lol.

Its interesting that despite all the tragedy and controversy caused by Nikki, Vince and Tommy, they never acknowledge the long term depression and (unconfirmed) suicide attempt of Mick Mars. Guess he's always been a private guy anyway and perhaps this is one of those understandable times privacy is important.

Sold my ticket for the Melbourne gig last Friday because my mate bailed on me but I am considering getting a ticket to the other Melbourne show they added. Unfortunately no PALM but.

Do it man you won't regret it.

I just kept thinking what a knob Vince Neil is but losing a kid like he did was very sad and you can understand anyone going off the rails even more after that.

Mick Mars is an interesting character. The movie sort of portrayed him as someone that didn't womanize or like to party that much. Great guitarist though, underrated even. I don't think I liked the actor they got to play him though. He was too familiar and not nearly ugly enough.

Staggering eh? Wasn’t he a computer programmer before he joined them? I’m sure he was.

Sounds like one of those Asian IT geeks - more comfortable at home watching anime porno than doing the real thing.
