Why do Pies fans strike me as so one eyed and nationalistic? Some of them can't even comprehend that there may be better teams in the comp than them. My 2 cents worth is that the Tiges and Weagles are both better than them at this point. Tiges were clearly the dominant team last season, right up until the prelim when they got too overconfident and Rance really showed his one-on-one weaknesses in being completely unable to contain Cox. Plus they beat the Pies twice during the season. As for the Weagles: similar deal. Beat the Pies twice during the season and then again when it really mattered. More importantly, the Eagles went through September without Gaff and Nic Nat, two of their best players, and Gov (arguably their most important player behind Nic Nat) was pretty much screwed the whole week leading up to the GF until he gritted his teeth and played through some pretty horrendous pain. I appreciate the Pies got through last year with a lot of injuries, and I have no doubt that they are a top 4 side in the comp, but they aren't better than either of those teams. Not at this point anyway. Happy to change my opinion at the end of this season.
Pies will come out swingin next week mate.Richmond threw the first shot last night............ Collingwood saw it and promptly said hold my beer
1 - no idea? It's just an opinion as I clearly said. Certainly I don't KNOW but given his skill set and how Collingwood were beaten it's not an outragous opinion. It's actually why he was traded in for 2 first round picks. Commentary on Grundy has been interesting. He was far from poor. He just wasn't dominant. Well played WCE and their rucks but he was probabnly the best individual ruckman on the day.
2. Sier would definately have played. Highly likely Beams would have played for Aish. Sier is a long term player.
3. It was effectievly a 1 goal game decided late. He wouldn't have had to do a great deal and Sier isn't the relevent comparrison at all. Beams in the middle or even allowing De Goey to start in the middle a bit would have been a plus and will be this year IMO.
Safe to say Pies have gone past Richmond. Why do Pies fans strike me as so one eyed and nationalistic? Some of them can't even comprehend that there may be better teams in the comp than them. HahahahaFor a supposedly young, exciting upcoming side. This weeks selected Brisbane side looks awfully old and slow.
Sier was hampered pre season and working back into it. He'll be back. Aish is going OK but he's vulnerable. Adams is the one out for Beams right now. He will come back soon so there will be changes to the 22 from last night.Isn't funny how I know your midfield better than you?
Beams plays Sier dropped despite your insistence that Aish would have been dropped despite playing a completely different role

Meanwhile Beams was Collingwood's best midfielder in a 44 point win over last years best performed H&A side. The actual point was about Beams improving the side. You brought Sier up saying Beams wouldn't add much by comparrison. Second game in says otherwise. I rate Sier, but to this point in his short career he has never played a game as good as Beam's game last night.
We wont win the flag this year. Not enough talent through the midfield and because of that we can't cover for two elite KPPs at each end going down. We could have afforded to lose Martin before we lost Rance or Riewoldt and covered it better.Rance out for the season and now Reiwoldt possibly out for months. Shit. Can it get any worse for the Tigers atm? Them winning the flag this year has suddenly become an underdog story.
Not to mention Dusty doesn't look right at allRance out for the season and now Reiwoldt possibly out for months. Shit. Can it get any worse for the Tigers atm? Them winning the flag this year has suddenly become an underdog story.
thats a bit generousTigers having a normal injury run will expose them. They will be exposed for depth and their game plan will be exposed by less continuity in the 22 week to week. Having a stable 22 with yuor best available make a big difference to results. They started the season as flag favourite for many. They might be a 5-8 side now.

Finals would be good, but we wont do much if we get there. 2019 might need to be an assessment year, find some kids, pump some games into Balta, Garthwaite, Naish, Ross and RCD, etc. Aim to recruit or trade for an A grade mid for 2020, hopefully one more crack at a flag and then from 2022 we probably start a mini rebuild with Rance, Riewoldt, Cotchin and Martin all in their twilights
Possibly overreacted when I was more pissed off and when I thought Riewoldt was set to miss 10 weeks.Overreaction?
Rance is gone yeah, how long is Riewoldt expected to miss, 4 weeks I see? You have Lynch who you didn't have last season who will cover him in the mean time. Jack will be back { sounds like a kids TV show ) Yes Rance is a massive loss, but it's not all doom and gloom even though it feels like it at this point in time.
I don't think you're going to win the Premiership, but I don't think it's a glass half empty either. You're still a dangerous side.
