The "played too fast" last week comment speaks volumes and we've been here before.

So a few times against Geelong we blundered forward and rushed kicks to their numbers. Did it against Hawthorn too.

Ok.

So... do we slow our foward movement down so that we can retain possession? If we do that... what then? We've retained possession across centre/half back. What now? Does it get easier to score?

Or... should we try to better retain our structure ahead of the football so that we can go fast?

It happened under Craig, Sanderson and now Pyke that we got spooked by turnovers so decided to be "smarter" with the football - slow it down, keep possession. All it succeeds in doing is making us go into our shells and become completely toothless.

Watching a hugely undermanned Tigers outfit , full of run, intensity and fierce tackling beat Port at home and then watching the Crows slow and gutless effort straight afterwards was like watching a totally different sport.....we are the slowest, laziest team in the comp and just shows how mentally and physically weak this group of kids are....that 2017 GF loss screwed the club up big time.....

I made the point in the Non-Crows thread about how Richmond have this manic desire/game plan to get the ball forward, by any means ,tap, kick, handball etc

I can hardly recall a passage when they went backwards. Maybe to ice the clock but they won the game by taking the game on frontwards. Sure the ball came back and Port had their chances but they lived or died by their style.

Yesterday they lived.

1.15 left to go and what do we do? Chip chip chip backwards and across!! FMD

( I dont agree the GF is killing us, its game plan and the bravery to do it)

You know why because we lack a single player that can take a contested mark.

Our players have now no choice but to only kick to a player loose or has an advantage over their opponent.

In 2017 we could always bomb it long because we had several players go up for marks like Tex, JJ and Gov and our crumbers were deadly like Betts and Cameron.

Move on to 2019, Tex and JJ are both cooked and no longer can bring the ball to the ground and our crumbers are non existent.

Does anyone have the player GPS data for this match? I'd love to know the total km run by our players in each match this season.

The eye test says we should be well behind. Are we not running or just doing pointless running?

I bet my life Mackay is leading this category.

Thats exactly what he us presently doing and your complaining about it FFS
No it's not. He's not playing our best 22. Greenwood is clearly best 22. Mackay, hartigan, clearly not. I would also not have obrien out there and free up another spot in the team for say a Bryce Gibbs and try Jenkins in the ruck, and if Jenkins can't handle it he gets dropped. He's not picking the best 22 available. That's the problem.

Spot on. I kept saying to my wife “Why are they kicking it to Tex, he’s not going to mark it in a pack”

It’s damning. ROB took a couple and that’s about it, no tall timber marking power
