True though consistency through the season would be hard to ignore - Given how quickly Walsh has settled in and improved (DE, on track to increase previous week's tally of 28 touches, starting to kick goals), I can see Walsh finishing the season averaging a tick over 30 touches, a bunch of tackles and approx 0.5-1 goal/game. That gets him quite close to the squadAA selectors play pretty conservative as a rule.

Bloody beautiful!
From memory i don't think we've had a better player 4 games in imho..CONGRATULATIONS SAM WALSH!!
The Carlton midfielder is the winner of this week's "Recruit of the Round" sponsored by Victoria Police.
Marngrook are doing this everyweek. The public vote each week for the top recruit of the round.
Congratulations Sam Walsh, you deserve it.
What do you think of Sam Walsh's start at the club?
I didn't think he'd be this good straight up ..what a machine..Fantastic, he’s certainly living up to expectations
I didI didn't think he'd be this good straight up ..what a machine..
Some things are just worth repeating.Ok I have to admit I’m stunned. In amongst all the doom and gloom that we lost a (most likely) backup player in Pickett and McGovern will miss a week of training.....
My view is everyone missed an amazing moment Thursday. You just don’t see 18 year olds do what Walsh did. He’s not just a good runner. He’s absolutely elite already. He’s determined as hell. His body is already strong enough. He reads the game amazingly.
Only injury stops him winning the Rising Star and being top 5 in the B+F. He is a MILE ahead of any of our previous number 1’s at the same stage.
I’m really stunned to have come on here these past couple of days and not seen people exploding with praise for him.
WAKE UP. I suggest you get back down to training in Jan and pay bloody close attention. Watch how determined he is to keep up with/beat Ed Curnow. Watch how he gets to more contests than all the seasoned players on the list. Watch his clean hands and terrific judgement.
So much love should be being sent his way yet people are sooking about injuries.
It’s a joke. I’ll say it again....
WAKE UP.
A well-oiled, high-yield vanilla producing machine!I didn't think he'd be this good straight up ..what a machine..

if only we could get antony green to assess the club..........no-one takes the pulse of the place quite like him.........he'd tell us if bolts is gone or not....Antony Green called it on the ABC last night
A FEW THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT SAM WALSH
http://www.aflplayers.com.au/article/a-few-things-you-didnt-know-about-sam-walsh/
Walsh is the best first year player at Carlton since Geoff Southby. It’s a privilege to watch him play.

I don't know how anyone could have doubted how well Walsh would adapt to AFL level. Watching his TAC Cup & National Champs games demonstrated that he was a player who would easily lift his game to the next level. His work rate & mindset was superior to anyone else running around at Under 18 level.
He just has a natural drive to be the best. I so look forward to what he will be achieving in 2-3 years' time.
