Trades Round 6 trades

Option 1: Bank cash
Burgess --> Hayes, Clark --> Lockhart - 263k in bank

Option 2: Upgrade Libba
Burgess --> Hayes, Liberatore --> Merrett - 22k in bank

Option 3: Take the Dusty Risk
Duursma --> Hayes, Parker --> Martin - 9k in bank

Leaning towards Option 3. Would leave me with only 3 midpricers (Williams, Libba, O'Brien) and 5 rookies on field (Hore, Scrim, Walsh, Constable, Drew)

My trades for this week
Milera out for Shane Savage
And Rozee out for Miers
However unsure on these trades any advice?
Also should I field Stack or Bailey Smith
Cheers
I wouldn't be getting in Miers as he is a young rookie, so is due for a rest soon (and Geelong have shown that they are all too willing to rest rookies, as they rested Constable last week). Although admittedly he does have quite a good tank as he played 106 mins last week so you could risk it if you wanted. I'd rather go someone like a Mitch Lewis or Corbett (if named). Alternatively you could just not trade Rozee as Port are against an easy team to score in (North).

Personally would want to see Martin a little more before committing. He needed 3 snags to get to his 110 on the weekend so even if he plays well again won’t go up too much in price. Plus 4 day turnaround is a worry. I like option 2 depending on how strong your midfield is

My Trades for this week

Duursma to hatley via Stack DDP to defence.
Parker to Who? Need help with this (444k)

Not the strongest
Cripps, M.Crouch, Rockliff, B.Crouch, Libba, Walsh, Constable, Stack (Atkins, Gibbons) - Duursma also a possibility for M8 as he's currently D7
Would love to get to just having Walsh/Constable has the rookies ASAP

If Dusty replicated last year (average 92) would that still be suitable for a top 6 forward ?

Miers has had the bulk of his price rises (although I think he'll run amok this week)
Personally think you'd be better off going
Rozee to rookie & Milera to one of Lloyd, Laird, Whitfield.

Cash generation for future upgrades ? Baker from Richmond, Ham from Essendon - although questionable JS on both.

Can anyone who follows Sydney closely tell me what's changed with Cunningham? I'm looking for a defender under 617k so was looking at Daniel or Jones and then saw his scores and wondered where it's come from and how sustainable it is.

Already have Laird and Lloyd in my team trying to get some money in for next week trades. Miers seems to score well and my forward line is a bit weak atm have Mccarthy but with Milera injuried I felt like he was a better option

Milera to Laird
M.Parker to Hately

Those are my moves for the week, considering going to Sicily but Laird is the safer 95-100 with potential to go big. Also considering Hayes, but I feel like an average game this or next week could see him dropped whereas Hately's JS and role looks better.

I’ve been very strongly considering him and if it wasn’t for Merrett being so cheap I would be jumping at Cunningham. From what I’ve seen in the Sydney games he looks to have possibly moved into the backline and taken McVeighs role since his injury and hence the higher scoring.

Seems him and Lloyd just play kick to kick across the back half and rack up the points

I'm almost tempted to move Lib down to Hately for the cash grab which will allow me to get Whitfield in def. Although Laird's bottomed out price is tempting.

Way I see it is that if Hately can score similarly to what he did on the weekend then he shouldn't be too far off Lib whereas Whitfield is a HUGE improvement on any def rookie I'll be playing
To offer a counter,

Libba is averaging 98.
Hately scored well this week but that was against Freo - who have been generously giving up fantasy points to midfielders with two legs this year.

Big assumption to think Hately can keep up an average of close to 80, whereas Libba has been running hot.

However, I see your point that it does net you a ton of cash, for potentially 20-30 ppg difference which is the difference between Whitfield and the next group of best defenders.

I would stick with option 1/2.

If dusty averages what he did last year then he will be around that top 10 sort of mark. We still have plenty of DPP additions to come as well. If he averages around the same as last year as well, then he isn’t going to go up too much in price to an unattainable value so shouldn’t be too hard to get in still.

Merrett is probably the better option, or you go with the cash grab and then are able to upgrade your midfield so Const and Walsh are the only rookies on field there

Oh I basically full heartedly agree. Lib has been great and even in his worst games has scored mid 70’s. Hately likely to average mid 70’s. The counter argument I have with myself is that Lib may only average 20 odd more than Hately (maybe even 30). But Whitfield averages significantly more than my worst defender in Duursma/Clark - around 50+. So I may be better off going this route as I’ll be better off points wise and with cash gen. Although perryman will be fit soon and that gives me a little worry on Hateley’s js

Reckon part of the problem is having Libba at M6 (as I do) it limits the amount of high scoring/good JS rooks you can have in the Mids to only 4, inc bench. So the dearth of good forward rooks (def hasn't been too bad) means that cash gen is limited. So it sort of makes sense to open up another mid spot for a good cash cow. That being said the DPP of Stck and Gibbons has opened the field up a bit

Yeah this is what I keep coming back to. More cash gen for not a ‘heap’ of loss theoretically. All the bloody decent rookies are these mid rookies that keep popping up
