Len Hall ANZAC Tribute Match

A chance to reflect on the costs of war and those that served bravely on our behalf.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we Forget.

The name Len Hall (1897 – 1999) has been attributed to Fremantle’s annual Anzac tribute game since 1996, with Hall known to many as Western Australia’s last surviving Gallipoli veteran.

How lucky we have been to watch 299 games of this man's career. Looking forward to cheering him on in his milestone match.

Key Points

Bont - MacRae - Libba
The Bulldogs have a great midfield unit and alot of players that can rotate through. They have the 5th best Clearance differential in the league, that domination in the midfield has allowed them to move the ball forward often. Bulldogs have the 2nd most inside 50's in the league. They may be struggling to convert on those opportunities at the moment but it shows that their midfield is doing it's part.

APearce - Hamling - Ryan
Fremantle have conceded the least amount of points this season, averaging 67.4pts against. The three aforementioned players have played a huge part in that. AP and Ryan both in the top 6 of intercept possessions while Joel Hamling has only lost 4 1v1's this season.

Aaron Naughton
A very exciting WA prospect that Bulldogs fans can get excited about. Will he play forward or back is the big question? Contested marking beast that has shown quite a lot of promise as a forward despite not having much support. Great to see him doing well.

Fremantle Forward line
For the first time in a long time Freo's forward line is looking potent. We have 4 players averaging 2+ goals a game and Hogan is still finding his feet.

David '300' Mundy
Like a fine wine this bloke just keeps getting better. With 40,000+ people cheering his every possession I'm sure we're going to see something special.

Final Thoughts:
Despite the best efforts from the Bulldogs midfield Freo's backline and forwardline prove to be too much for the Bulldogs to handle.

Best on Ground - David Mundy
Most Goals - Matt Taberner
Tip - Freo by 24pts+

PS - Sorry this is late to go up. Only just realised it was my turn to do the preview.

A training report is never late. Nor is it early; it arrives precisely when it means to.

The emotions will be flowing on this one, be good to get 2 wins in a row and Mundy's 300th will have the boys revved up. The dogs will give it their all as they could do with a win, they'll be hoping we spent ourselves in the last match. Should be a good match to watch.

No Duman ...... No Dockers

Seriously though dangerous game from a mental perspective for the boys and if you have been watching this year the motivation side of things has played as big a part in the topsy turvy results as anything

Freo need to overcome the curse of ' should '

Mundy goal after the siren for the win

I’m hoping Tabs continues to pair well with Jesse. Tabs’ kicking may not improve exponentially over night but I am confident he will keep working hard. I’m hoping for another solid 2-3 goal game. Plus the return of cam Mac!!

If Cam is fully recovered this is a dream game for him. Not only will he be getting the oppositions #3 defender, but it is a significant weak area for the Bulldogs at the moment anyway. I am hoping our planning for the game almost revolves around Cam for this particular game.

I think the Bulldogs will be scrambling to cover us in this game rather than focus on playing as they want to. From their board, I expect Naughton to shift back into defence. They will be very nervous about the 27 marks Taberner and Hogan had last week, and the won't see Cam McCarthy coming until it is too late. Kick it to Cam.

Picking a win by 34 points with Munday kicking a goal after the siren on one of the quarters.

The first 4 games has my confidence up.
They are a good side but will have ups and downs like us. Unfortunately for them, this will be a down. A big one.
Fyfe BOG and 40+ margin.
All hail lord Mundy. Boys will definitely lift for this one.

I like the Bullies. I like the Bont. I used to see English at Freo oval sometimes before he was drafted. Crozier dated my mate's au pair and I'll never forget his tackle of Burgoyne!! Naughton is a Peel boy. The rest seem decent too inc. their coach. I respect humility and they have it in spades.

Having said that, with our form, player availability, new potent forward line, momentum, home ground advantage, and more importantly honouring Mundy's 300, I would be very surprised and disappointed if they didn't give this game everything they had and lost. Don't mind if it's by 1 point on the siren or by 101, I can't see them letting this one go for Barra.

Freo by at least 1.

I am hoping playing at home and it being Mundy's 300th gets us up and going in a big way. it would be nice to be 3-4 goals ahead at 1/4 time. The free kick count will almost certainly be vastly weighted towards the dogs.

Check out that line up for the Bulldogs and games played. They still have a lot of experience there, and a gun midfield with Macrae, Bont, JJ, Libba etc. This won’t be easy if the Dogs bring their best. I hope our boys are expecting an ambush. Freo by 7

I would think they've got that in mind. Don't want to get snuck up on the way their opponents did last week, Ward's injury notwithstanding. Plus hopefully Mundy's 300th has the whole crew pumped.

we'll win for Mundy, the bloke is on our Mount Rushmore.

Super excited for this one :)
The boys will play out of their skins for Mundy's 300.
I hope we can continue the attacking style.
Tabs with 6 in a dominant display with 14 marks.
Mundy BOG :)
Nyhuis will cement a spot in the first 22 ;)
Us by 78 points.....no seriously....us by 78 points. Over by quarter time.

This is a MASSIVE game for this club today.

Len Hall Game.
Mundy’s 300th.
And coming off the back of the GWS win that announced this club is on the way back and has the footy world talking about the club (in a positive manner) again.

This game isn’t just about the win.
A scrappy win against an underperforming Dogs will not be good enough and will discredit the enormity of last weeks win.

A narrow win against a Bulldogs outfit who play to their potential will be a much better result.

Hopefully the boys are pumped up, I’m gunning for a 40pt win against a mid tier Dogs team.

Let’s go Dockers.

Are we being a bit over confident.??

I’ve seen our side lose games like this for the last 25 seasons. In saying that how could we possibly let Mundy and the ANZACS down!?

Freo by 15 in a surprisingly close one.
On here we definitely are, thankfully none of us are playing tonight.
