8 weeks. Is what it is. Lynch needs to pull his finger out now. Having caddy and Martin resting there takes the pressure off too. Would love to see towner come back, but reckon Bolton gets his chance again. Cannot see us losing to Dogs or Dawks even with the outs. Freo over in the west is lineball, but 8-3 or 9-2 sets you up for the perfect run home. I know it doesn't feel like it, but other contenders will cop injuries too.

Silver lining... Jack comes back in the second half of the year, our forward line re-jigs and opposition sides have less time to work it out before finals.

Over the last few years, I've come to the conclusion Jack is our most valuable player. So we'll see if he can be replaced.

We know what Lynch is capable of - but this gives Caddy a chance to really show what he can do. I think he has to really step up

Back after the bye, miss the Saints game at Bugs Bunny Park and play ressies at Sandringham and be back for the practice match against the Suns at Metricon then back for GWS and the MCG run home.

Our draw is reasonable from now until the bye. Bulldogs, Freo, Hawthorn, Essendon, lolninf, Geelong, Adelaide. Only Geelong and maybe Essendon (respect their recent form) are as tough as or tougher than Port over there so really I think 5-2 should be our minimum over this period. Sets us up at 9-4 to attack the back half of the season.

Not sure about Lynch having to pull his finger out he’s out performed in my view to this date.

He’s still only training once a week. He just needs to keep doing what he’s doing and help with the down the line kick and be that target to kick to in F50.

Just look at the dees game. Yes jack kicked two goals to split the game open but that could be anyone in our forward half. Most of our goals came from our smalls and mids. That’s what we need going forward.

Hopefully we can get ourselves into a decent spot with Trent and Jack to slot back in for the back end of the season.

I think Cotchin comes in for Jack and Baker will roll forward as our FL looked slow with Lynch Caddy and Jack( who was really the only active tall). Plus I thought Lynch was obstructing Jack’s line and vision.
Anyway we have 8 weeks to try out some combinations. Main point here is Jack gets better.
