Probably about right realistically. No bargain but not over paying either. He could be anything still and hopefully ends up a star.

Finish in a similar position to this and it’s absolutely * all and we win the deal - as long as Henry shows something

Yeah, if he plays well and we play finals he's a steal, plays shit and we finish bottom 4 and it looks not so great. Worth a gamble, would rather pay out of this draft though.

We're already very young though. Continuity is the key now.

Yeah, you get a quota of good youth and you can't play them all so you're best to start to condense picks up in the coming drafts. Take one or two good picks not bulk players hoping for a miracle.

Traitors used to be hung drawn and quartered. This one has ended up at Essendon. Don't know which is worse.

Biggest Saints fan issue is we have always looked for the messiah. It is because we have been an unsuccessful club and found solace in the Barker/Plugger/Harves/ Nickey/Roo/Lenny type players moreso than a deep running list.

Last season we had the second worst injury list and were never out of the top 6, so now we have the depth. We get a superstar from this group and they will have a team to back them up. We FA trade for a top talent, we have the team to back them up.

I expect Pou, Chito, Windy,Hammer, Titanic, and Ronnie to improve. Would like to see at least one of Van Es Hotton or Keeler to be pushing for seniors.

Then there is Paddy Dow and Henry. Whom ever we select in the draft can develop.

I think all clubs want high end stars. Post Rooey we haven't had a real star player. Stuv is probably the one that came close but he was our hero not a champion. To step up from a good side that makes finals and become a premiership favourite you need a few at a level above what we have now. Hopefully we have the players there that will step up to become that. King, Owens, Phillipou types look like where that will come from.

It's pretty rare that a bunch of GOPs win a premiership. Probably only a few in the last 50 years. I think we had heroes to fall back on in hard times but it's certainly not unique wanting quality.

Goodbye Finals

That's why Mannagh would be a good in, for The Gresh. Cheap & experienced playing against AFL listed players.

Hopefully Henry's good, he fits nicely into list age demographics.

25: Battle, Paton, Higgins, Clark
24: Stocker, Dow, Coffield
23: King, Sharman
22: Byrnes, Allison, Henry
21: Heath, Wanganeen-Milera
20: Windhager, Owens, Caminiti
19: Phillipou, Hotton, McLennan, Van Es, Keeler

Personally I'd like to add some more quality into those age brackets a year or two younger than King. That's clearly our next big shot at being a really strong side so it makes sense to bring in players in that range mainly.

Everyone older than these is essentially just keeping us competitive until these guys come through properly.

Can’t imagine Dogs will part with it, they won’t want to go into deficit for matching Croft. Here’s an unpopular opinion, IMO Dow is worth more then Coffield, just, very just.

I'm the opposite. Dow is a pretty well proven fringe player with heaps of exposed form. Coff has really only had 2 seasons and as a high pick with limited exposure he looks like he actually has a higher ceiling. He has delayed potential. If I was a neutral I'd think Coff had more upside.

North have now picked up two key defenders in Bigoa Nuyon and Toby Pink, I think they will look for one of them to fill their defensive holes. Much cheaper option/s than Howard. Plus with all their early picks they will likely grab Curtin who could play a role next year, thats assuming they dont trade up to pick #1.
I know people don't rate Dougal on here but are you seriously comparing Biggy and Pinky to him? Jeez.

Nice

When I worked with people with disabilities I used to take a guy who was deaf and blind with an intellectual disability swimming at an indoor heated pool. I was leading him around in the water and a big turd rose to the surface. He must have reached down and released it from his swimmers. An old lady was furious and yelled at me as she got out of the pool saying if "those people" can't control themselves they shouldn't be allowed in public pools. I calmly said "it wasn't him... it was me".
Taking one for the team❤️

Are you feeling miserable?

I said it was a good trade, in the past we've overpaid so I am happy… our list is in pretty ordinary shape clearly from these past mistakes.

Not sure what your problem is TBH, maybe go outside and shout.

A few posters were heavily invested in how well we'd done and can't let go...and others are just sycophantic yes men. The club could swap Max King for Jarred Polec and they'd cheer it on as a genius move.

This football department is the best we've had for years and the club has invested in quality staff. SOS and Gubby look like the weakest links still but so far so good.

They haven't had a huge trade period that looks like anything to get super excited about but they have worked a sensible conservative set of deals that have keep the cap low and haven't chased a feel good story at the expense of the future. Honestly I'll take that as a positive any year.

We've done a heap of stupid things in the past and are starting to move it all back on to the rails. I could potentially learn to respect the list managers if they keep operating like they are. Not something I've been able to do for years.
