Fremantle Dockers 2025 Intraclub #2
23-02-2025

Here ya go peeps. It doesn't look as nice as the first Intraclub as I overblew the brightness and caused the clarity to suffer but it is in 60fps so hopefully that helps.

Cheers.

What the heck is this? Looks like ice in there. Is it “Weight belt” for the shoulders? Shoulder protection to practice taking marks? Backpack camping practice? Can’t say I remember ever seeing this before.

It's part of his preparation for life after football. Caleb wants to be a sherpa.

What the heck is this?
It's a weight that is just water (it has gone white from being jostled around). The theory is that the unreliable distribution puts pressure on little muscle groups that are difficult to target in traditional, stationary weightlifting exercises, and therefore increases overall stability. Looks like Tidal Tank brand.

Amazing detail in the training now.

At a guess that looks to be about 20 litres of water there. If it's full there is approximately 20 kg of weight swinging around on your shoulders. It is really going to put some extra stress on your body.

You've seen that part of Empire Strikes Back where Yoda rides on Luke's back while he runs through the swamp and lifts rocks making him a better Jedi?

Same same. The slight destabilization caused by the weight above center of mass creates a better ability to balance later.

I bet London to a brick that this will be a fad that proves to cause an increase in injuries. Weight like that jostling around in such a rapid, random way in an awkward, unnatural position sounds like unknown unknown unknowns to me.

Interesting. The Eagles were doing it for the first time on Monday too. They must have the same training consultants. It's too much of a coincidence otherwise.

The variability is the point, like balance training. The body a complex and dynamic system and this is meant to challenge it. I will take Oxford St and please.
