Fremantle Dockers 2025 Intraclub #2
23-02-2025

Here ya go peeps. It doesn't look as nice as the first Intraclub as I overblew the brightness and caused the clarity to suffer but it is in 60fps so hopefully that helps.

Cheers.

I think no. More like Steel Sidebottom
Purely in playing style he reminds me of Lachie Neale or a smaller Mundy with his abiity to rove the ball off packs and be evasive at stoppages.. When he plays forward he has a bit of Walters traits in that he can change direction quickly to get free without being super quick on the lead.

I think so too on both accounts

I don't know what the knock was from other clubs

He may well be our sidebottom for the next 12 years
Looking through that draft again, perhaps our pick was the last in a theoretical tier?

There was definitely talk about Berry or Bo being options for us, but they were preferred just before. Three players with very different attributes.

Not saying anything others haven’t but **** Reid is a serious player, so incredibly impressive. Bolton roaming up into the kids and through the forward line is going to be such a treat

A few thoughts

A v B which makes a team look better.
Riedy is ready and is big and powerful. I like his kicks. He will need to be at his best as Geelong and Sydney have gun rucks.

O'Meara is looking better this preseason to last.

Sebba is our GOAT

Brayshaw making some skill errors and needs to improve his goal kicking unlike Sebba.

Tracey looks primed and Amiss similar. They know each other well.

I don't like making predictions as they can make a fool out of me but Reid is way to skilled for WAFL and may be as skilled as Bolton. Gives him the Keyes to Freo town already as he is going to be a star.

Banfield did nothing and will be holding back a player from the 23.

I'm keen to see Erasmus against Melbourne because he was an almost player against a superior Puple team.

Walter's looks good again
Banfield played junk time only along with Brodie against IAS.

It really appeared as though they wanted to challenge RAS and MJ against our top midfield.

Appears JOM and NOD ahead of them both but RAS/MJ will get opportunities. Potentially one of them as sub round 1.

Read Duffield mentioned Walters as half back flanker. He doesn’t have the speed for that. He remains part of the forward line mix. I think as season goes he will be in and out of the team which is fine.

Rather Cooper play half back. Has good speed and nice skills. Seems to struggle to stay involved on half forward line.

No pressure on the young bloke. 😁

B: Ryan, Draper, ChapmanHB: Clark, Cox, WagnerC: Banfield, O'Meara, SharpHF: Frederick, Treacy, BoltonF: Sturt, Amiss, JacksonRuck: Reidy, Serong, BrayshawIC: O'Driscoll, Walker, Walters, Reid

If this was the A team today just think we still have to squeeze in the likes of Pearce,Fyfe,Young,Darcy going to be a competitive year for spot if not too many injuries

Went and watched some of the intra. Sebba, Bruce very good as others have said. Really impressed with Bolton ability to find space and seems to have a real connection with walters... look for these two linking up a lot. You can hear Tracey all over the ground, his commanding presence, both physically and audibly, was outstanding. He'd make a great captain in the future I think. I wish Amiss had that swagger (who still looks like hes not 100% confident in running patters and/or presence - needs more F off its mine mentality). Thought Simpson in Grey team had good moments, better than banfield and sturt. Fingers crossed for Drapes. Aish serviceable for grey and johnson tried hard all day. Raz needed to be better to really push for round 1.

We really gotta understand purple was against a glorified WAFL team tbh. And, our defensive ball movement still looked worrying. In essesence it still looks like we're trying to be perfect and overthink it. I also heard some of the players yell out, 'slow it down' while exiting D50. So don't hold your breath for something new. Likewise our entry forward was frustating. Inability to a) kick to space and b) provide space to lead into is frustating. Even on easy attacking 50 turnovers we fluff around before wildly throwing it on the boot. Very few leading lanes and not many repeated efforts (outside of JT naturally). I thought some of the grey transition foward plays were more exciting than purple.

Clinical, presice and measured seems to be the JL way. Lets see how it'll go.

Would rather 5 scoop touches over 15 banners touches.

That said, young, switta, Johnson and Ras could take that spot anyway.

We know our midfield and backline is pretty good but the forward line and ability to score needs the work so dont know why we didn't pit the best forwards like Amiss, Treacey, Bolton, etc against the best backs like Cox, Ryan, Draper, etc up one end and then have the lesser forwards against the lesser backs up the other end so it would be a real test. Doesnt really mean much when Treacey and co are playing against a WAFL backline.

The previous intraclub scratchie was like that. Best backs v best forwards. Maybe it’s time to get the team together.

With all the weird names on this forum, someone spelling Jaeger as Jagga pretty easy to understand. It was a more logical assumption than thinking about a Carlton player in a Freo thread.

Add a surname next time

I was devo for Jaeger

If you read the original post you will see the poster mentioned Carlton and surname Smith if you are going to skip pages and only read half the thread that’s on you
