Not really that simple though.

It's more - I'm homesick so I would like to go home on the same contract, but now that I could stay and earn an extra 300-400k a year then I could sacrifice that for the benefit of my family long term.

You can’t blame players for trying to get all the money they can but it’s a Melbourne thing to do blow the cap on a few players then having to stick to free agents/trading for fringe players. As much l want Kozzy to stay l really hope it’s not just for the money.
