Good get for the Suns if it happens and clearly, players are wanting to go there to cash in on a potential flag or in the very least, prolonged period of being finalists and winning more games than they lose:

Will be nice seeing players bail from the Pies too.

Elliott was linked to us earlier in the year, and a few years back too before it transpired that he was clearly trying to bump up his Collingwood offer. Same again I reckon.

He at least toured our facilities at the time which is more serious than I was expecting.

I don’t know what would be less appealing the Carlton job or the Melbourne job.

Seems to be so many disgruntled players at both and complex relationships and personalities.

Carlton have a core that is young enough to do something but they've paid them all too much and now can build around them. They need to make a tough decision or two.

Sounds like their salary cap is still pretty tight (after bringing in Houston, Perryman and maybe JSOS). With so many players considering leaving in Cameron, McCreery, Hill and Elliot I reckon a few of the them are feeling underpaid

With Pavlich being named as the new Swans CEO, does that mean now we can push for a Qld based selector for the All Australian panel. WA has two, but surely Pav hands in his papers?

So who is a worthy Qld based selector? Alastair Lynch (covers most Suns/Lions games? Leigh Matthews (obvious choice), Dom Fay (would have Zac Bailey as number 1 inclusion), Aker, Simon Black ???

Is Rocky back up in Qld?

the only appropriate punishment for the crimes against harris andrews committed by the all australian panel is to force them to conclave with jason akermanis as our delegate for the next decade

It must be grim supporting St Kilda. You finally draft a guy that can be a marketable star and he wants to leave. It looks like he is gone.

Carlton worse by a fair distance for me

Agreed, Carlton needs a salary cap reset first followed by getting some young talent with right attitude in order to commence rebuild. They are at least 3-4 years behind Melbourne in my view.

Melbourne at least draft well (minus key position) - Jason Taylor has done a good job so far in my opinion. You'll have either good potential traits like Harvey Langford, Xavier Lindsay, Caleb Windsor etc. Or at the bare minimum blue collar and hard working like Kade Chandler. List has decent value so you don't have to start from scratch.

I worry for the next coach who takes up Carlton job, there'll be sky high expectations as usual and the list is nowhere near that.

It felt like St.Kilda let him loose to play all over the ground thinking "if he's going, let's see how high his value can be pumped up"... and then as it dawned on them "jeez this guy looks like the next Chris Judd ! what are we doing here? Nasiah pleeeaase staayyyyy !!!"..

It feels like the horse hasn't just mentally bolted but it's doing laps at twice the black caviar pace just to prove a point to the seller, before getting driven away by the new buyer.

Has something come out that he wants out or just your feel.

FWIW, I want him to go, screw St Kilda. May even buy one of those tees for shits and giggles

Gut feel.

They could go nuclear and trade whoever wants out, they've still got good trade value (aka. Richmond last year). Problem is this year's draft is already considered shallow and compromised, and soon Tassie will start impacting drafts.

Years of pain ahead for teams at the bottom if they can't sort it out in the next 2 years (as we suffered through the GC & GWS draft concession period).

if wanganeen-milera leaves i wont feel sorry for st kilda in the slightest. you want to complain about the draft being unfair due to academies? enjoy the shoe falling onto the other foot where you cop what we did for years with draftees wanting to go home at the earliest opportunity.
