The only player Rankine was potentially better than was Bailey. Could make a case for that. He wasnt better than anyone on the bench.

Worrell is the crow that should have got in

Apparently it was from a different hit in the first quarter.

Nit a big Hughes fan but he played out the game with broken ribs and a punctured lung so kudos.

Unfortunately that means we are going to have to listen to him dine out on that fact for the next decade.

You listen to him?

Couldn't have happened to a better bloke I say.

So there's a headline in The Age (paywalled) saying that there is a hundred players runningaround in the AFL that are likely gay. I know it's The Age, but seriously?
There are only about 750 AFL listed players, 100 would mean 13% of the population which is about x3 the proportion of the wider Australian population.

The Age is generally far-left clickbait…

Its probably another article of just applying the general "percentage of the population that are gay" to AFL player numbers.

Completely missing the fact that the culture around the sport is going to drive a lot gay men away from it. And the addition stress put on someone having to hide who they are all the time is not going to be conductive to performing at a high level.

Based on recent high-quality studies, about 15 per cent of young people identify as something other than heterosexual. In the AFL alone, this should mean more than 100 openly gay or bisexual players. Instead, there is only one player, who retired in 2016.
It is now time for genuine change to the harmful behaviours and culture that Mitch Brown has bravely called out. He has done his part. Now the AFL community must do theirs. It is not enough to celebrate finally having an openly bisexual player. The AFL community needs to take a hard look at itself, listen to what Brown is saying, and use this moment as the catalyst for long-overdue change.

Dr Erik Denison is a behavioural scientist with the Faculty of Arts at Monash University.

So this study from 2023 in the US says theat 22.3% of Gen Z's considered themselves not Heterosexual, where as only 4.5% of Gen Xers don't. WTF happened? Nobody was stopping you being a bender in the 90s.

You weren't stopped, but weren't encouraged to identify either.

Gen Xers was probably gay or straight and maybe Bi.
Current generation has far more categories of sexuality they may feel they fit into better than straight.

I still dont get why people have to "come out", it's their life to live how they wish. None of our business what they do, if what they do harms.others well.then there's consequences, if you have the desire to come out thats fine too.

Me.personally, I dont care and dont pay attention to it.

Is it just me or are the Crows being a little petulant at the moment?

The anti-Snoop campaign, the handling of the Rankine suspension and rubbish social media posts. Optically, just comes off as “I’m better than you”.
They’ve got a mission accomplished vibe about them pretty hardcore which is great tbh thinking it’s just going to happen is exactly where we want them to be
