Bugger. Some silly moments and the conditions didn't suit our game but I thought we did pretty well all things considered.

Definitely some lessons to learn from this one for the team.
Girls got a little ahead of themselves i think.

Also gonna show them how much being clean on the ground matters.

Umps didn't help our cause though, HTB only existing for one team was diabolical.
Should be better for the experience in high pressure, wet weather games in the future though.

Play that on a dry day and we pants them. Contested scrap suited them to a tee, couple of very good top line players who used their size well and thought through the kill the clock phase nicely, which proved the difference.

My kingdom for a remotely acceptable level of W umpiring.

We’ll be right. Good centre clearance work with the game on the line in the fourth term, it’s starting to click in there after a slow start for the midfield this year.

On to the next, Demons another massive test.

He flatly does not watch the W and just turns up once every few weeks to call it.

Or if he does watch the W, Jesus that’s alarming because the next correct thing he says about a player will be the first.

Ah well. Riggs scoring first up might have given us enough momentum. Just couldn't generate any scoring shots despite dominating territory and possession for the bulk of the day.

Freo impressive with their workrate and pressure. Probably a bit cleaner in the conditions across the day too on the wash up.
