I’d say he’ll end up being apart of the Curnow to Sydney deal.

He wouldn’t make much sense at Carlton though because Hewett plays the exact same role.

Rowbottom is a bit of an unassuming, not much fanfare type, so I could actually see him being a viable option for us. Was good mates with Parker and Stephens too.

Just spitballing but I wonder if there is a way we could throw involve some pick swaps to get Rowbottom to North, Curnow to Sydney and picks to Carlton.

Add the Pies future first and Simpkin in the deal and you could see it working.

Simpkin out and Rowbottom in would be a win for us.

If by some miracle we could make it happen, Rowbottom would be a brilliant get for us. But it won't happen.

Have a hail Mary with $$$$. If we went hard at Windhager, we should go harder here. What's his options? Carlton? No success happening there in his football lifetime.

Unless Hawthorn, Geelong, Collingwood, or Footscray come for him, you can throw a blanket over the rest when it comes to success.

Sounds good but given they've turned down 3 first rounders from Geelong (admittedly most likely to be mid teens) have to be a very creative deal to get that done.

So rather than our salary cap space being treated as an asset to us, something that we can leverage for a better deal, it instead just another reason why Collingwood can underpay us in the trade AND still have us take a chunk of his contract, basically, we should have no issue bending over and taking it!

The comp is run to make the bigger clubs bigger, and the small clubs smaller.

More surprised that people are surprised that Morris is still in the industry. The bloke is a fair dinkum leech
Purple has made a successful career out of it, leeches and scum seem to be rampant

Trade 1:
In: Pies F1
Out Simpkin

Trade 2:

Sydney Receive: Curnow
Sydney Lose: Rowbottow, Pick 11, F1

Carlton Lose: Curnow, F3
Carlton Receive: Pies F1, Sydney F1, Pick 11

North Gain: Rowbottom, Carlton F3
North Lose: Pies F1

good in theory but you would think Carlton want a player or 2 plus picks if they are to lose an established player like Curnow

Throw Maley into the mix. Aren't they both rumoured to be interested?

Collingwood would’ve laughed when we offer to take on his salary..

We have no cap to worry about what are you talking about

Its going to be hard to convince Rowbottom to move to North, despite him being a perfect fit

'You guys actually have a Salary Cap? We've heard about those, we just assumed it was something the AFL threatened clubs with but never actually followed through on.... you know like suspending players for three matches for legitimate tackles?'
