They realise that North don’t want him to leave yeah? Why we would we pay part of the salary of our captain to play for another club for anything less than a good first round pick or player? Delusional
I wouldn't be so sure of that.

I would take him. Just turned 24, 194 cm athletic intercept defender. Lots of football ahead of him and would give us more flexibility with where we play Charlie Comben.
i say as cover/depth for Chom, not sure where else you would play him... surely we dont still think he can play fwd

There is no world where Jy is worth more than Starcevich. His value is late 1st, early 2nd. You can debate whether we should accept it but for me it comes down to what the plan is without him. I said at the start of the year he might not be best 22 come Round 24 and if we have a side that looks good without him, I would be active in getting this done.

I never mentioned Starcevich.

This has nothing to do with Starcevich. That was a deal between Brisbane and the Eagles. Starcevich was a Free Agent and wanted to go home. A trade was arranged so as to not dilute any compensation that the Eagles might get and have got for losing Allen to Brisbane.

No comparison and anyway, who says Starcevich is a better player than Jy? Put Jy in that Brisbane line up and he would be every bit as good or better than Starcevich.

Why do so many here want to keep putting down Jy's ability as a footballer? We should not confuse our disappointment with him saying he wants more midfield minutes, with his actual talent.

I see our plan. Sit tight do nothing and wait for clubs to implode around us.

We are all just purely schizo-posting into the void
I just assume we all live in the 40k universe and we manifest trade outcomes through the warp.

I see Jy as a solid B-grade footballer. I would have Sheezel, Wardlaw, LDU, Colby and FOS ahead of him in the middle. If he made better decisions with his disposal and then execute it, he would be more valuable. He isn't a lock for me and as such he becomes tradeable.

Imagine the scramble for his signature among the Vic clubs if he became available

His tackling and pressure around the contest is first rate, team first player which is exactly what we need.

Good call but aint no way he comes to us

I’d say he’ll end up being apart of the Curnow to Sydney deal.

He wouldn’t make much sense at Carlton though because Hewett plays the exact same role.

Rowbottom is a bit of an unassuming, not much fanfare type, so I could actually see him being a viable option for us. Was good mates with Parker and Stephens too.

Just spitballing but I wonder if there is a way we could throw involve some pick swaps to get Rowbottom to North, Curnow to Sydney and picks to Carlton.
