Even without Merrett the Hawks will go a long way next year. With him I’d have them as favourites.

I think the deal only gets done if Essendon get ‘overs’.

Hawthorn supporters here will initially cry but he is an amazing player and their midfield is the only part of the team that needs to improve for a premiership tilt.

You respond to a Duckworth post who was responding to Changa10 post, who was responding to Lore post about Hawthorn posters under-rating Merrett and then mentioned my name.

When did I underrate Merrett?

If you say you want to be a better poster maybe you should take more accountability about who you troll or post about. You literally just pegged in my username to "get a win" over me (with no quotes..again) just because I've disagreed with many of your posts before.

you do so well and then throw in immature barbs. It happens in almost every one of your posts. When called out you gaslight and pretend like you have the moral high ground. That has been your MO for weeks. It's a superiority complex it seems in a lot of Hawks supporters.

Essendon supporters for the most part are trying to deal with facts [he is our captain, 6 x club champ etc. etc. etc) but then when that comes out, Hawks supporters continue to be disingenuous when debating the Merrrtt issue.

I could go back and quote lots of posts with pot shots, ive called some out. "Doing so well and then this" a number of times.


You can sit on the pedestal you wish but stop pretending like you are high and mighty, a number of posters, both Essendon and non Essendon supporters have called out the Hawthorn responses as being ordinary.

Seems to be a lot of talk swirling around the Hawks potentially moving a few players on to bring in Merrett and Humphries.

Looking forward to Wednesday night when we finally get a resolution and all the guess work can go away for another year.

I've read suggestions of Mackenzie being involved in a move and also Scrimshaws name has been mentioned a few times.

Both are best 22, so we'd want to be seeing good return. I also think Mackenzie's value is down currently on what it should be because of him hurting his hand. He'll bounce back and have a long and successful career.

I think the only way we'd let Mackenzie go is if we got Humphries locked in.

I'm sure you were just laughing because it was my post, without even reading it. I won't lose any sleep. You will see that I have had good discussions with other Hawthorn supporters where they refrain from pushing the Essendon smear campaign agenda.

I believe some of your posting is intended to attract laughs and you are proud of the disruptions they cause.

This year, Hawthorn lost to Geelong by 8 and 30 (if the Gunston call wasn’t botched in the PF Hawks would've been four goals up) and to Brisbane by 10 at the Gabba.

If that’s a “tier above,” then the tier lines must be pretty thin.

And as for being “proud” of reactions... You're welcome to point to which of my posts are supposedly laugh-baiting. Blanket statements without examples aren’t exactly a strong argument.

Worth noting, first rounders in 2026 and 2027 are likely to be circa 20 (in 2026) and closer to 25 (2027) so probably worth more to us than fringe players like Hustwaite

It happened at Mitchell’s house 4 or 5 days before a knock out semi final. I’m sure poaching Essendons captain was not really at the top of Mitchell’s priorities that week but never look a gift horse in the mouth and all that.
