That Collingwood deal was good.

Let's hope that's what it is.

Ha ha ha tee hee more negotiation by media.

Don't **** this up Brady they're bending. "Two first rounders is one too many, and maybe two too many". They're so desperate.

Also Morris is genuinely dense. Two first rounders is maybe two too many, but if they had a late teens pick this year they'd use it. Which one is it. You crab. You simpleton. You dunce
Good from you. You rolled the years back with that.

I was wondering if it were still in ya tbh. Time goes by for all of us unfortunately, but you're still there. Brilliante.

He’s received some very very poor advice from his manager if Collingwood only had just a passing interest.

You don’t do this as a Captain of a football club, pretty much kill your reputation at that club, unless there’s rock solid (almost a commitment) to move.

If he’s just tested the waters like this, he and his management are absolute morons.
This is bang on. Stinks of exactly this.

If it wasn't his manager, then my guess is he had a shit show of an exit interview and vented to someone(s) who then fed it to the wrong person. Shit happens.
I don't know, That exit interview must've been an all time classic, to have the Capt burning every bridge to get out of there..
to me it sounds like someone's been in Jys ear that isn't the club or his manager.
Or his manager is telling porkies to keep people happy.

There's a couple of big unknowns in this whole thing - how bad is the relationship between Jy and Clarko? And do senior players actually want him back at the club as the reality of this has sunk in?

If it's really bad with Clarko, one reason you'd still keep him instead of accepting potential unders is because Jy will need to play well in 2026 to attract interest this time next year. He might not talk to Clarko all year but it's in his interests to play well. The second reason would be to show other clubs that the club doesn't just cave in (anymore). Third would be to use the year to speak to multiple clubs and get the best deal in return, not rush a deal through with one club.

However, the reasons to accept unders (if it's really bad with Clarko) would be to avoid a disgruntled ex captain bringing the whole atmosphere/vibe down; or him undermining the new leaders, forming cliques, causing rifts etc.

If senior players don't want him at the club as sh!t has become increasingly real, Brady might not be in as strong a position as we think.
Sheez was being trotted out as face of the club pretty often during the year. I wonder whether that was with Jy's blessing or whether he thought he was being sidelined.

No one is buying the shit you are selling pies. Degoey is a washed up has-been who really never was most of the time.

Want the pick for Rowbottom I’d imagine.
Rowbottom will stay at the Swans speedy.:)

At least Jy hasn’t asked for a trade till the pies are willing to offer a decent deal.
Will make coming back to the club a little bit easier.
Can say I never asked for a trade.

Dunno if it works like this to be honest. We've been so ****ing bad for so long that there's almost a badge of honor to be worn by sticking around through it. If everyone's to be believed Jy has had enough of losing and has packed it in. Don't know that he could look Larkey, LDU, Zurhaar, McDonald in the face day 1 of the preseason knowing they know he wanted out, not just because we are bad and have been for ages, but because he couldn't push a 32yo vegan ex-Swan out of the midfield and took his bat and ball and went home

It's a bit funny. Drop the news that you're interested in him. Immediately launder Norths demands of 2x first rounders for a 2029 contracted club captain through the media to generate sympathy and pressure Brady.

When this doesn't work, leak a Zoom call with your head coach and a similar type midfielder from another rival club in Rowbottom after which you also tell the media unofficially that you're willing to pay less for Rowbottom than you would be for Simpkin.

Simultaneously your idiot gun 22yo midfielder accidentally goes overtly into the media scrum and says how much he loves Simpkin and how much he'll help. Softening your bargaining position.

The next day Rowbottom through his manager says thanks but no thanks, doing absolutely nothing to drop Simpkins price, while the willing media continues to do your dirty work and tell all in Sunbury that Simpkin - despite being in his mid 20s and contracted - is both worth significantly less than the club who holds his multi year contract is asking for, and also very useful for Collingwood at the same time.

Meanwhile for the first time in his career Brady is somehow doing everything right by doing nothing. Jy is swanning around in Barcelona with his waifish girlfriend having upset North and highly likely ****ed his captaincy and legacy at the club all without notifying his manager, and probably overinflating his value.

We've honest to God somehow come out winners by sitting on our hands

I heard something unconfirmed from a source that I implicitly trust that this troglodyte attended the hospital on the day of the bridge incident with Maj seeking comment from the club when they would not answer his calls. Told in no uncertain terms to FO.

If that is true then this sewer rat should be barred from the club forever.
That is Nightcrawler territory there. Sociopathic.

Reckon i might tune into trade radio about 5:30 pm on Wednesday when there is a chance something might actually happen for the last 2 hours, as per AFL HQ's preference for the drama and click's etc etc

Honestly tho some here will stay tuned till midnight thinking someone of substance is still going to nominate North

A game of British bulldogs should sort it out - with a scuffle to clear the tension

Tells you a bit about the IQ of the industry when they're pulling moves as obvious as the ones you've set out here.

I have some sympathy. The indigenous all stars game reminded him (and us) how good he can be when played in his traditional role. After that game he would’ve spent the next 23 rounds at North wondering wtf am I doing here. I’m never going to get my spot back.

He’s at that age where the older players go up a level, but he instead got pulled out.

An opportunity comes along to play his role at Collingwood, I too would ask the clubs permission too to see what they’d offer.

We don’t need to do a thing, Jys on a good contract and needs to pull his head in if as you suggest he is being disruptive
Yep, we all know he's contracted and we can make him stay. Not sure telling him to pull his head in will fix things if his relationship with Clarko and others has deteriorated. Again, that's an if - I don't know, but you have to wonder how it got to this.

Melbourne basically told Petracca to pull his head in this time last year and wouldn't trade him. Not sure that worked out too well for them. We don't need a division at our club.

People make to much of that all stars game.

An exhibition game where players are tuning up for the season to come I’m sure the intensity was vfl level at best

A 30 day ban on BF shall be applied to anyone else mentioning the slap and tickle All Stars game. It was as competitive as a Harlem Globetrotters v Washington Generals match. Even Hughsey and Dan Gorringe would have got coaches votes if they played. It’s a glorified exhibition game. Jy got a $10 Hungry Jacks voucher and a printed PPT for player of the game from the coaches afterwards.

It’s on Jy to adapt or play vfl I think the kid gloves can be pulled off now. If this time next year he’s the same we play the same game he still has three years on his deal.

Whether or not he should feel aggrieved we can debate but there isn’t much of a market for his services elsewhere should indicate how he is valued in the industry. Almost as though he might not be as good (or as entitled ) as he thinks.

Petracca has done a lot more and will get his move as there is the interest to give melb a return THEY want
