I'd say value right now is 1.2-3 and if someone wanted to get hold of him it'd take more than that.

But for us Will can see an opportunity to cement a legacy as a legend of the game over the next few years so it's likely he'll take less than value and we could add a couple of sweeteners.

Like captaincy of the AFL's powerhouse side perhaps.....

Would be interesting to see what Ah Chee is thinking through all of this, and what he evidently would do next. Let's say if a trade doesn't happen, would he walk through the PSD? If he does, it's safe to say his reputation at this club would be severely diminished given players tend to want to avoid screwing the clubs that they're leaving. I doubt Ah Chee would go through it; however, I'm also not sure why we're not trying to get Port and the Eagles involved.

We still want Ah Chee to go where he wants to go though. We would've negotiated and brought third parties in if Adelaide's first round was on the table. They just decided to be resolute on second or nothing.

It's their first year trying to trade from top of the table, I think they'll adjust in a year or two knowing they have to give proper value or else clubs will do this back to them.

If the crows faf about and don't stump up the necessaries to get this done, I'm thinking he stays. How gutted would he feel after being courted and then undersold to the point of a no deal. It's the kind of thing that hangs over a club's head in future negotiations with player managers, when you try and screw around with such a great talent and excellent human being. Look at the fall out from St Kilda's treatment of Leek Aleer, this would be like that on steroids.

How do you know that we aren't trying to get other clubs involved?

Get the [PLAYERCARD]Zac Bailey[/PLAYERCARD] extension done now.

Other notable names OOC next year- Bruce Reville, Sam Marshall, [PLAYERCARD]Lachie Neale[/PLAYERCARD], [PLAYERCARD]Noah Answerth[/PLAYERCARD], [PLAYERCARD]Dayne Zorko[/PLAYERCARD], [PLAYERCARD]Darcy Gardiner[/PLAYERCARD], [PLAYERCARD]Darcy Fort[/PLAYERCARD].

Geez the Crows have looked like a pretty C-tier organisation in the last 6 weeks.

The Rankine stuff and now this trade.

They’ve clearly gone hard at Cal but seemingly forgot that they need to then make the trade happen.

A second rounder is clearly unders. They believe their first is overs. So get busy dumbasses. Get creative, get other clubs involved to ensure your plan to get a player is completed.

They just seem to be sitting on their hands sooking that it’s all too hard and unfair. Such a low energy, bland outfit.

They are trying to hold us hostage.

Sam Marshall
Sorry, stuff up by me there. He should be 2027 like Levi as both were first round picks getting the extra year by default.

Isn't that just the case for the first 20 picks in each draft, rather than the entire first round?

Any chance Ah Chee stays here? At least he’s loved and wanted here. Money can’t buy happiness.
He's going. We're just ensuring we get fair value.

Cheers. Past me is clearly smarter than current me.

They've had success in the past threatening the PSD, so that's how they choose to operate now.

Yes but as we exhaustively covered in this thread, even if you are pick 21 onwards your third year in the league is still salary regulated by the CBA, so generally what is there to gain by moving clubs given you can't earn any more money that year?
