Might be something like their 2026 F1 for our F2?
Sounds like we are giving up picks this year for points and they are giving us future picks? I dont even know what picks we currently have. Good decision by the club either way, always a fan of stockpiling future picks.

is anyone hoping that Oliver deals falls over and we keep him. Shocking direction of the club to pay half his wage for only a future 3rd round pick.
No.

Decision was made and it’s the right one.

Obviously still need to see what the other pick swaps are, but considering what Carlton and Essendon are getting offered for their guys it's hard to see a better deal being offered for Petracca than that.

How is it an ambush?

"Hey Clayton. Next year we're going to be playing a game style that needs a more balanced midfield. The days of you, Christian and Jack playing 80+% on ball are likely to be over.
Over the preseason I really need you to work on adding another facet to your game, or improving your disposal to be more damaging with ball in hand. It's going to be a lot of hard work, but it's what the team needs to be successful.
I want to be clear that this is a requirement. Without that extra string in your bow, you'll likely be playing a bit of VFL footy.
Of course, if that doesn't sound like something you want to do, you're free to explore your options at the trade table"

Very naive to think that. The intent was to push him out.

Clubs don't call for an urgent meeting for a player on leave, to be held at their manager's office at the start of trade week to discuss a role change.

C'mon now!

We might get unders but they are taking his salary. We could use that money to chase someone else in the future.
Don't think his salary was ever any great issue.

Let’s see what we get for Trac then balance it out with Oliver.

If anyone said we would get one first for 30 year old Trac and one for Oliver you would take it any day of the year.

body language expert here. Tim Lamb is so easy to read. The lip compressions and tongue juts speaks volumes throughout his media conference. Lips compressing typically means 'withheld information' i.e. the body trying to stop the mouth from sharing information. It's when there is a internal dialogue and the speaker knows that there is insincerity occurring.

Do yourselves a favour and go straight to 1.30 of his media conference. The question put to him regarding Oliver:
"Is there any world in which he can stay? "Yep" followed with a clear lip compression and a tongue jut (tongue slipping out of the mouth quickly).

What this means: Most likely, he is telling a lie at this point. The lip compression tells me that he is withholding information. And the tongue jut tells us that he is internally aware of his insincerity with the information that he just provided (the 'yep' response). And the tongue jut is a way to 'cleanse'. Ultimately he knows that the words coming out of his mouth doesn't match the reality of what is happening.

Not to even mention his stance. One hand grabbing his other wrist is a self-comfort gesture. It just shows that he is containing tension and the amount of tongue juts that he does in only 8 minutes tells me that this is a long standing self-regulation behaviour. So it doesn't always mean deception but in fact high tension. It's his version of fidgeting.

5.00. Question 'why weren't you invited on the walk with Bailey Humphrey alongside Steven King and Nathan Jones?'. A clear shift in tension due to it being a light-hearted question. HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF.

Anyway, I could go on for days. No wonder he gets getting screwed at the trade desks. His feelings are written on his face.
This post is so good it got mentioned on the latest Kick it Forward podcast episode 1 hour 8 minutes in (4 minutes remaining): https://kickitforwardclub.com.au/pages/podcast

I'm pretty happy with how the list is shaping up. We're going to suck next year, but add Picks 7* and 8* to a young core of Langford, Pickett, Lindsay, Rivers, Windsor, Turner, Bowey, JVR and Culley (plus some more speculative types like Tholstrup, Kentfield, Heath, Howes, AMW and Mentha) and the bones of our next finals side are definitely there.

Add what is likely another top-five pick next year before Tassie comes in, and we're in a decent spot.

Missed an opportunity to do a best 22 where you put picks 7 and 8 on the team.

What if both our first round picks are another Lucas Cook and they have to play Casey reserves? Can you do a Casey reserves best 22 for this scenario please

It does look like they’re planning a big reset before Tasmania start taking all the early picks.

Last thing we need is being in the middle of a rebuild like when Gold Coast and GWS came in.

We'll see how this afternoon goes, but the ability for clubs to trade future-futures hasn't really unlocked as many trades as the AFL would have liked. Feel like last year was a trade week fizzer as well. Lots of rumour but not much actual trades being done. Wonder if AFL will re-consider clubs desire to trade players without consent.

AFL needs to completely overhaul player movement IMO, it feels like trade period gets worse each year.

Doesn't help that it's the Tassie draft
