Apparently Fremantle approached Ah Chee and he said no.
Who wouldn’t. Who wouldn’t…

I presume Freo pick before Adelaide in the PSD.Can he say no if they pick him?Apparently Fremantle approached Ah Chee and he said no.
If they match his contract terms then I don’t think he has a choice. Not entirely sure thoughI presume Freo pick before Adelaide in the PSD.Can he say no if they pick him?

You can refuse to go to the team your drafted to because its pre-season and he's out of contract. If they match his contract terms then I don’t think he has a choice. Not entirely sure though

Sorry should've explained that. its also because he gets taken out of the draft pool. He’d have to sit out a year if they matched his nominated contract.
I believe its 2 years according to CBA. It says 23 month player bound to club unless club willingly delist him etcHe’d have to sit out a year if they matched his nominated contract.
Surely they could request a trade after 12 monthsI believe its 2 years according to CBA. It says 23 month player bound to club unless club willingly delist him etc
I would be surprised if the Lions didn’t stay in contact with AhChee to inform him of the progress and that a trade was unlikely to happen.I'd be surprised if Ah Chee had any ill toward Brisbane.

If a player were to sit out a year as a result of being forced to a club they didn’t want to go to.They can - but the club can choose not to like many of them have done this year.

That club would be crazy not to entertain a trade and take whatever they could get tbh.
Was that his punishment?Cam McCarthy did that and got to Fremantle.
I think it was mentioned as part of the conversation. (Not by me)Oh you didn't mention sitting out a year in the previous post.

Nothing. He signed a 2 year extension in 2015 before changing his mind and requesting a trade to WA, which failed. He was granted personal leave from GWS in 2016 before they agreed to trade him to Freo at the end of 2016.Was that his punishment?
Cal has a short window to set himself and his family up, if he sat out a year or two due to who drafted him it would completely undo that. I don't buy the family angle in terms of location; it gets thrown around a lot. So, it's about capitalizing on his value to other clubs, which there are many who would be happy to pay a two-time premiership player for their services. Port for example need to convince Butter's they are a destination club. They will move heaven and earth to make this happen. Cal adds kudos to any list and brings with him the professionalism that is required to achieve the ultimate.

I rang Fages and he said we're taking Willem DuursmaWho else are we taking in the draft after Annable. 2 more? Waller, Prindable, Bridge or some youngsters not from the academy? Seems like we gave Prindable a good run late in the year.
