youre not alone, easy to see the balance of our midfield counterweights back to somewhat normal when Setterfield played.Bro I can’t lie, whenever I hear Sharp getting compared to Hobbs it really irks me. Like Sharp is actually an elite inside midfielder, whilst not versatile. We’ve been crying for this type of mid since Jobe Watson and actually makes us more balanced.
Like everyone keeps talking about the modern game going past these types of players but last time I remember Josh Dunkley was the best mid in the prelim and semi final.
I actually think Sharp and Taylor will be drafted by us. So hopefully uncle Rosa doesn’t disappoint.
You should know by now, we canIf we go away with two of either Robey, Taylor, Cumming and Sharp we can't lose. Just be grateful we got a double dip this year and Back the Build.™
Unlikely to happen. There are 7 good kids and all we have to do is pick 2. Try to get too clever and we might be in trouble but the skill sets of these guys are at least AFL quality. If we pick the shittest kid out of the top ten I tell you I’m not going to be happy. What’s the bet we missed the best player in the draft by smidgeon?
You don’t know who the best kid will be. 7 good kids potentially. POTENTIALLY! Don’t give me this hoohaa. If you substituted unlikely for probable then I might believe you.Unlikely to happen. I think C-B graders from the top 8 these days is almost a failUnlikely to happen. There are 7 good kids and all we have to do is pick 2. Try to get too clever and we might be in trouble but the skill sets of these guys are at least AFL quality.
essentially using 2 top 10 picks in consecutive years on small forwards is silly.Still think we need to get Lachie Dovaston with one of our 2 early picks. He will be gone by the time we get to our GCS pick (assuming trade up). Teaming him up with Kako & Caddy for the next ten years will be a beautiful thing.
Has the right amount of campaigner about him (like Archie Roberts) which has been missing since the Hardwick/Solomon days.
Get the best midfielder at 5, Dovaston at 6, Harley Barker or Farrow(unlikely) at GCS#15, match a Sweid bid and our work is done on the first night.
Yeah unfortunately it’s just not the right draft hand for either team to be making an Essendon -> 2 moveNot even Dodoro would give up two top 5 picks for CDT. Not worth it. At best trade one of 5 or 6 and a 2nd rounder.
But id keep 5, 6 and F1.
Dont think so, he seems to be climbing by the dayIf we do move up to GCS #15, is that too high to take Pickett?
I think C-B graders from the top 8 these days is almost a fail
Who are the 7?
Remember everyone said similar about Tsatas, Perkins, Mcgrath ect
We have one good small forward, most of the good sides have at least 2+ (Rachelle/Rankine, Stengle/Miers, Watson/Moore).essentially using 2 top 10 picks in consecutive years on small forwards is silly.
Seems like Melbourne and Essendon are keen on Cumming. Very happy with that.
Well i hope your right and all 7 become A graders and we have 2 of themThe obvious group at the top, WD, CDT, XT, SG, SC, DS, SR. I don't think B-C graders is reality here. B-C graders generally have some attribute problem that prevents them from improving, but I don't see that to be the case here. The skillsets are good. The biggests risks from falling into that category here at Grlj and Sharp given their disposal.
I was advocating against McGrath and Tsatas very hard so I don't subscribe to everyone.
it's just doesn't make sense to allocate resources that way. used a top 10 pick basically on a small forward last year, let's try to find. we are also taking sweid and probably HEA ends up on some part of the list. that's two more players who are small and can play forward. we took Kako and unwin last year along with day-wicks who is also small and can play forward. you can't just keep drafting smalls who play forward until you get the best one in the comp with as many holes as we have.We have one good small forward, most of the good sides have at least 2+ (Rachelle/Rankine, Stengle/Miers, Watson/Moore).
There’s lots of 185+ midfielders that nobody is sure on at P5-6 that could be the next Tsatis/Perkins. Just looking at Dovaston you can see he will achieve Higgins level at a bare minimum which would be great to have alongside Caddy and Kako
