I wouldn't be opposed to using the second rounder from 2027 to move 45 closer up to get another KPP prospect.

We get 2 extra years of development before 2027 and that draft is going to be massively compromised due to Tassie. If we can end up with Dovaston, Thredgold and Ludowyke then that would be a great outcome given we just had two meh picks in this draft. Sure, it has required, and will require blowing some draft capital, but if we hold on to our 1st round picks in the future then I think that is a good outcome.

Instantly wanted Dovaston when there was speculation that we'd be moving up. Really glad we ended up nabbing him.

Some unpopular opinions:

I think Whitlock will be a forward as he develops, so would like us to target a KPD tonight - like we tried for in free agency.

Thredgold's profile ticks all the boxes, so should be a no-brainer.. but there's just something about his game that doesn't give me the same confidence a lot of others have. He just doesn't seem to be an instinctual player to me and feels a little laboured in processing the game. Likely I'm wrong, and maybe it's something that's easily coachable in an AFL system even if so.

The one left on the board that I really do like is Phillipou, I think he'll have a very good AFL career and would love to somehow pick him up - obviously there would be pitchforks if it's in favor of a KPD though. So I think Thredgold is still the safe pick regardless.

Really interested to see what comes our way trade wise, and if either of those 2 happen to slide giving us an opportunity to jump back in and take both. I think that would be an outstanding draft haul to take away along with Dovaston.

I think Phillipou would be the only one other than Thredgold, Ludowyke or Emmett we'd probably look at.
Our team needs someone who can run in transition like that. I think Dees or Tigers snap up Phillipou at 30 or 31.

He's not a real natural mover, he's a bit raw and deer in the headlights at times.

More Sam Frost than Harris Andrews at the moment.

It's probably the only reason he's pick 26 and not pick 5.

Athletically and his defensive ability/intercept/vice like mits - Are all top line.

The massive hole on our list are creative/rebounding half backs. Unless we plan to keep Kerch and FOS back there, we don’t have none.

Is that Lindsay still on the board?

There will be 960 draft hopefuls having a very restless 22 hours knowing we have first pick
Annnnnnnnnnnd on the other side of the coin there will be 960 hopefuls hoping they get to an almighty football club that can start their AFL career & earn some serious money. ;)
