I do not like these test matches that have 20 wickets in a day. That's not test match cricket, that's one day cricket.

I don't mind it. The poor bowlers are just cannon fodder in the shorter forms so I don't mind them having a format they can dominate.

It's probably time to codify it by making Test matches officially 4 days though. Then these 3 day Tests won't feel quite so bad.

Lyon is looking better in defence than all of them. He should give them a refresher course on playing defensive shots. Cricket used to be about wearing down the bowlers as much as scoring runs.

That was possibly the worst day of batting ive watched in a long time. England with baseball stupidity, Australia with a couple completely out of form, one done at the level and one not up to it (I really dont see it with Weatherald).

Its going to be a bleak (by Australian standards) few years - though im confident we win the series still.

I still think we'll win the series because Hazelwood and hopefully Cummins will come back, as will Webster, and I dont know if Archer and wood will be available for every Test. Wood has definitely said he won't

I am saying he has been poor against pace for a couple of years now. And he has been picked to face Wood and Archer. Plus the other two who are bowling over or around 140kmh.

He will struggle to stay in the middle for 20 deliveries an inning.

I don't think its his fault.

The talent isnt there except in their early 20s and those guys aren't ready.

IMO there's no one outside the team other than Cummins and Hazlewood that'd improve this team. Webster unlucky too but don't think it matters whether we puck him instead of Green.

It's easy to blame the selectorsfor poor performances but IMO there's a greater issue here that the shield isn’t producing enough test standard players.

Most of the batting 'options' they talk about the start of every summer either can't string two seasons together where they average 35+ and/or have failed in multiple chances at test level already. It's a grim situation and I think just blaming Bailey isn't going to get Australian cricket.

They need time to develop. This going back to the well is starting to border on insanity. It's been nearly a decade since Smith scored runs for fun
