I guess thats Caicedo though and why hes arguably the best DM in the league. But sometimes he'll get there a millisecond too late or a bit high, I think we can live with that. The margins are pretty tight.

The afterwards were embarrassing though.

That was some save from Sanchez. I literally didn’t think he had it in him.

For all the shit I've given him over the years, Sanchez has been great tonight.
People love clowning on him but he's been genuinely excellent this season.

One of the best shot stoppers in the world. Only issues he has is being too casual with his positioning or ball playing. Nothing wrong with his saving ability at all.
His ball playing has improved significantly this season

Chelsea better with 11 men. Still looked troublesome with ten though. Arsenal probably a bit leggy after three big games in a week. Definite red for Caicedo. Can have no complaints.

Mosquera and Hincapie a bit loose but to be expected not having played together yet. Sloppy over the park everywhere though.

Chelsea and Arsenal going to be a fun rivalry over the next few seasons.

Quick turnaround with a MIDweek round -

Match of the round:
Brighton v Aston Villa (two top 5 teams in great form)

Compelling:
Leeds v Chelsea (predicting another spiteful game)

Watchable:
Fulham v Man City (Fulham in some sneaky decent form)
Bournemouth v Everton (meanwhile the Cherries are surprisingly out of form and need to course correct)
Newcastle v Tottenham (think this will be a bloodbath)
Arsenal v Brentford (Brentford exceeding expectations but this is a tall challenge)
Liverpool v Sunderland (weirdly it's the Black Cats getting dragged down in the ratings by the Reds)

Meh:
Burnley v Crystal Palace
Man United v West Ham

No Way Do Not Want GIF
:
Wolves v Nottingham Forest

In the end Arsenal will still be happy to escape with a point after going 0-1 down, despite having the man advantage.

Just looked a tad rusty, although they could have easily gone 2-1 up in injury time at the end there.

Also tuned into Aston Villa v Wolves last night, dont think Wolves played that badly, but really every game for them now is about 3 points or nothing in order to survive. Dont think draws do them any good.

I don't think Gyokeres should have been given a yellow.
Gyokeres is entitled to go for that 50/50 ball, but it’s still dangerous sliding in like that when the keeper is there. So a yellow is fair.

If he’s slightly quicker and toe pokes it before the keeper can get there then it’s a goal and no card.

Bullshit red on Caicedo. I get the implication but those haven’t been paid like that all year. Completely changed the game.
You can make a point about consistency, but the red was there.

Backing up the Barca win with a draw against one of, if not, the best in the world right now with 10 men is an excellent week for us. Could've easily won it too if not for the red.

The challenge, funnily enough, starts now. December is typically when we hit a wall and Leeds can't be taken for granted, they were very good against City despite the injury time loss.

What shits me about Caicedo’s red card, is that in the end it’s a poorly mistimed tackle, and some poor technique. Yet you see deliberate body checks and jumper pulls when there is a threat of a goal scoring opportunity and they only get a yellow.

Caicedo didn’t slide in, no studs raised, it was a semi-aggressive stomp. Should only be worth a red card if his studs land on the shin, not on the ankle. IMO

Also, I think you should be able to replace red or double yellow carded players unless the tackle is truly heinous or if it prevents a goal scoring opportunity. Need to introduce another coloured card.

How are you still trying to defend it?

It's a red every day of the week.
