weird ass kicking action
but looks a gut runner

who were you referring to as not being in a good position to receive the ball?
It’s aggressive 😂

But I said not unlike someone else. Nick

Yes. And the recruiting component is stacked against teams who are always up the top of the ladder. Sydney and us have maintained a top of the ladder list through the luck of being able to match stars with junk picks. Cats have maintained a top list through outstanding recruiting.
Except they become destination clubs especially for free agents. And usually they have depth meaning they have valuable trade bait.

Yeah, his interesting way of kicking sure says it. I think there's a bit of jumping the gun here comparing a fresh draftee to a 3x All Australian, premiership player.
In the way he moves is what I'm referring to, his ability to evade and see whats ahead of him, and his ability to know where the ball is. You can easily see it in his highlights too.
Its meant to be a compliment.

That is definite jump the shark territory comparing Swadling to Nick. And I am a fan
Just talking about of his traits are similar. Thats all. Which would be a good thing I would think. You've got to watch him to see certain similarities in the way he moves with ball in hand.
Just like Prindable can be similar to Pendles in his work ethic.

Training - Monday Dec 8th, 9-11am.

No Jordy or Josh D this morning, but Bobby was there. It was nice to see him out on the track, even if it was doing a few laps of the oval.

Otherwise, the squad

+
Perryman Jr (Ed)
Oskar Faulkhead.

+ Houston, Moore in rehab
Bobby running laps
Reef came into the rehab group half way into the session. He's been participating in a lot of the line and individual drills. He's slowly ticking away.

Nick looks over his "injury", ran at full pace in one of the full ground drills. There was no limitations on him from what I could see.

Pendles again training in defence. Who was training in the midfield? IQ was with the mids at centre bounce drills... which was interesting.

Mids you had:

Prindable, Anderson, Swadling, Nick, Allan, Lippa, Steele, Crisp, IQ, Steene, DC, Long, Perryma Jr, Faulkhead.

Mccarthy while gets pushed off the ball, even his frame, he competes well in the air and took some nice marks
Prindable is quite classy, and can take a good contested mark.
Swadling moves with ease around the ground, knows how to read the play, and evade tacklers that come his way.

I'm ready to overreact over this after one session. I hate the idea of this. Hopefully it's just to even the numbers until Josh is ready.

Leave one of the best small defenders in the comp in the backline.
Its hard to know yet.
With this the multiple time pendles has been in defence, someone has to move
I thought it would be perryman -- and still might be.

IQ was great playing mid a few games in late 24. Let’s try him as a mid and see if one of the young guys can fill his role. It could be a win/win. We can always switch him back.

Thats every top team. And all the others have dropped to the bottom except the ones who got lucky with being able to match star players in the draft and Geelong.

I know you don't want to give them credit, but they've been outstanding.

Yeah I agree

Like, I know we have experience in our midfield but ultimately ourmidfield is our biggest weakness so if you're not cementing yourself by your 4th year then I doubt you'll ultimately make it with us

Which is mildly annoying because I don't mind Ed
I don't mind him either, but don't think his inside game is very likely. If he improves his kicking or aerial game he's a chance for wing/half back. Id be betting on others ahead of him though.

I think he's a bit like Macrae in that he's got strengths but they don't marry up to an AFL role.
