Large heads ?
Just a couple of blokes who started doing a podcast because they loved the club and footy. They have a style that may not suit everyone, but it was developed over a number of years to the stage where their following is large enough that the club has now more or less adopted them.

I don't think they have big heads because often they are self-effacing and recognise their limitations. I have listened to the podcast for many years now and enjoy it because even in the dark days they try to be positive and they provide Swans supporters with heavily biased opinion, club and player news, and a bit of a laugh.

But, like I said, it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Yeah i rate them. They're all over the positives but still say it how it is when things are going bad contrary to what some are saying.

Looked like just about the whole list and the coach at the Bondi flower memorial this morning in Swans Polo's , well done. It was on Ch 9

After a lighter training session on Monday following the devastating attack, club captain [PLAYERCARD]Callum Mills[/PLAYERCARD] and AFLW captain Lucy McEvoy were set to visit the memorial set up in front of the Bondi Pavilion on Tuesday to pay tribute on behalf of the Swans.

Once the message went around the playing group that Mills was to visit the site, the entire squad also wanted to get involved. It led to a striking scene of more than 50 Swans players and staff in red polo shirts at the memorial on Tuesday morning.

Beautiful photos.

It's a bit awkward for footy players to be stepping into this role that they are not especially qualified for, and I felt that in their answers to some of the questions. But the heartfelt desire to contribute and give back and the big turnout are really gladdening to see.

You could see on their faces how genuine they were and that they care and that's what would count to people. I imagine that would be the first time any of them would have encountered something like this so close up. Most of us wouldn't.

I'd imagine the spotlight being on them - their entry into the area was very much a "here we are!" vibe, for no reason other than the 40 odd bright red shirts walking in and occupying such a large space - would've been uncomfortable for some. But I don't think there would've been a "role" they had to play. I'd imagine it would not be difficult for them to appreciate the magnitude of what happened given it's a place they have all probably been to semi-regularly, and to feel empathy for the people there who were grieving loved ones.

They could have just been respectful observers (albeit ones who were drawing a lot of attention to themselves in their matching red uniforms) - until, that is, they started giving interviews... then they got asked awkward questions which positioned them as having a role to play (as much the fault of the interviewers and the media as the club and the players) and that just felt uncomfortable (to me). They didn't have to give interviews but they did, no doubt because the club perceived it as a good PR opportunity.

I think the players were only trying to do the right and best thing - but because they were singled out for no particular good reason that I could discern, it became awkward. Hence my comment.

I just don't think they would've found it awkward or difficult to simply offer their thoughts and feelings on the incident. You hardly have to feign shock or sadness or even just a sombre seriousness if you're at a tribute following a mass shooting in your area. It should come relatively natural to you. Only a sociopath - and who knows, maybe we've got a couple on our list - would find such an experience difficult enough to have to "play a role."

I thought the whole thing seemed remarkably well-handled by the club, to get the players in, pay their respects, and then get out again promptly, considering the spectacle it could've been.

I think we are at cross purposes. There is no suggestion they were acting or dissimulating.

Losing a GF by 80 points & another one by 60 points doesn't really matter when this stuff has become a new part of reality going forward. Well done to the club.
Very proud of our two leaders & club.
