And quick short ball, 2 big weakness for an opener.England found a weakness against the full quick one and have exploited it well

Especially with no other openers available. Khawaja made runs I guess. He's made a 70 odd so far this series and made a couple of starts in other innings. Let's not get too carried away you give him till the end of the series at least.
uummm noI have no issues with Weatherald being given out on that one. With the ball tracking technology that we have at our disposal, I wouldn't be against changing the laws about pitching outside the line of leg stump - there is 100% no doubt in my mind that ball was going onto smash into middle stump.

I'd be happy with Renshaw in the side.If his average is 25 odd and Kellaway or Renshaw finishes the series strongly he might be left out
The pitching outside leg rule has nothing to do with tech/ease of making decisions. It's to stop fielding captains stacking the leg side and bowling at the body all day.I have no issues with Weatherald being given out on that one. Was in the first test England were close to this and gave it away?1/101
Only been a rule since ~1937 haha, better get rid of it :OI have no issues with Weatherald being given out on that one. He's averaging 25 with the bat. It's a lower average in far easier conditions and opposition (he's not facing Bumrah at the other end) than the justification people have given not to select Khawaja, even before you consider that Khawaja's outstanding run up until 2023 and decent Shield ability since (matching Weatherald's) still counts for something. He's made a 70 odd so far this series and made a couple of starts in other innings. All going Englands way.cant believe they got another over
Who are the openers then? He's averaging 25 with the bat. Maybe they drop Inglis as well and pick yet again someone else.
Yeah, fair call. I wasn't thinking of that side of things. I just don't think Weatherald should feel too hard done by there. The pitching outside leg rule has nothing to do with tech/ease of making decisions. It's to stop fielding captains stacking the leg side and bowling at the body all day.
Khawaja is 100% playing next test.It doesn’t make sense to drop Weatherald. I don’t think we really want Head opening but circumstances sort of forced it, I can’t see any reason why you’d drop on opener who has been fine for three Tests
If Khawaja scores well again he probably stays in ahead of Inglis and they can decide which of he or Head open and which bats in the middle
Then review and it would have been not outThat's just inept from a supposed top umpire. Looked miles outside leg live.
Weatherald has played 3 tests, has 1 not out and a 70 so far.Maybe they drop Inglis as well and pick yet again someone else.
