He had a great year, but his contested/uncontested ratio is whack and offensive impact not great (we were shit)

In 2024 he was ranked 19th in the comp by those CD ratings. (Which are better than any other statistical measure imo. They are much more comprehensive.) In 2025 he was 157th or thereabouts. His player rating went from 15.something to 9.8 - that's a huge drop.

He still had a great year by any normal standards but by his own personal standards he wasn't overly happy with it. And he seems very motivated to work hard this off season to make up for that.

In the first game of the year he pulled this amazing move on the boundary then almost hit an incredible banana goal. Would have been GoTY worthy if it had gone thru. He then missed a relatively easy shot and I think he lost a bit of confidence or started trying too hard cos there was a period afterward where his kicking was very bad. At least by the standards we'd come to expect. That drop off in kicking probably cost him 150-200 places on that CD ranking scale.

In 2024 he had 35+ possessions a bunch of times. At least five, maybe more. 2025 he only did it once iirc. Tho when he did get more than 35 he didn't stuff around. LOL.

If he'd got 30 touches in that game, instead of 54, he'd have averaged 1.5 possessions per game less in 2025.

Yeah. In CDs system they have Xerri as the third best player in the league, have to take that with a grain of salt as much as I love X.

Conversely, they have CCJ as the worst player in the comp - so maybe?

X is fifth in the comp for ave contested possessions, sixth for clearances, thirteenth for tackles, leads hard ball gets from the ruck and is fourth for winning ruck contests, one contest behind the comp leader. He's consistently up there in the stats CD tends to value and has a bias toward.

X is fifth in the comp for ave contested possessions, sixth for clearances, thirteenth for tackles, leads hard ball gets from the ruck and is fourth for winning ruck contests, one contest behind the comp leader. He's consistently up there in the stats CD tends to value and has a bias toward.

tackles, contest, + net metres gained, chains to score, speed of ball + more. All the metrics that win games of footy. CD may have some flaws, but its the most genuine. AFL use stats like effective kicks which actually dont need to hit targets.

What makes Harry a gun player was lacking in 2025. Missing goals, link up, smart football use. If he isn’t playing to his standard, he then becomes an average player.

Im a Harry stan. Im also allowed to acknowledge his own perspective on his own game.

Do I believe he will have his best year of his short career in 2026? Yes. You should be able to see the difference because it’s significant. You’re biased.

Not really. If Sheeze had played like he did last year we may have won a couple more games.

Last year he kicked 14.1, this year 8.12 - lets call it 10 goals for ease of counting. Last year he had 20 goal assists, this year he had 6.

Off those two stats alone that's 18 extra goals. Plenty of GAs are just another link in a chain but last year (2024) Sheeze had the ability to win ridiculous contests and turn them into goals for us. This year i thought that was missing a bit. He was still incredibly good but the magic wasn't there, well not to anything like the same extent anyway.

But I reckon you could scratch that last name off the list. There’s all sorts of measures and arguments, but the Syd results in each of his seasons to date might say he has LDU covered already (amongst other comparison points).
