You said you wouldn't know either way and then say 'it's equally incorrect to assert that he isn't'. sorry, but that's a contradiction and absolute hogwash.

And why are you using the term sociopathy and not psychopathy? Or just using the term interchangeably because most people that don't know just go with whatever.

And yeah it does. It precludes him. There is probably a 0.5% chance that he is a sociopath. That's a fairly accurate likelihood based on absolutely everything. Almost every single indictable crime includes deception, lying, lack of remorse, high levels of narcissism, impulsivity. But this absolutely does not make these people have a personality disorder. People just like labelling them because they try to make sense of the behaviour but in most cases, such as this, they're completely wrong.

The only thing embarrassing is the overused term 'sociopath' for literally anyone that commits a crime and lies.
If you actually had the vaguest notion of abnormal psychology you would know that neither are medical terms at all, and that you have basically been talking shit for pages now. Jesus wept

Oh is 0.5% too high for you? That's as certain as anyone can be. i'm qualified. And clearly you have no idea what you're talking about on this topic. And sure, find any other expert and they'll say that he certainly is not a sociopath.
You’re not qualified. You’re not an expert. Give it a rest Dan. Go sit in the sun for a bit.

why are you telling me things that I already know? Odd. But it absolutely used to be before it got compiled into a broader definition. But yes, to suggest that a persons upbringing is irrelevant with regards to a diagnosis of a personality disorder is completely wrong. In every sense.

Every expert in the field will tell you that Tom Silvagni would not be a sociopath or suffer from ASPD. Just a guy making horrible decisions. Don't disagree just to be argumentative. Everything that I've said is 100% spot on.

Many feminists would agree with you here. They've long argued that the men who rape women are not your stereotypical monsters but regular, everyday men.

Which in many ways is a much more frightening prospect.

Haven’t seen anyone suggest it’s irrelevant only that it’s not definitive.

Also I reckon every expert would correctly assert they don’t have enough data to make a determination either way.

They may assert it’s unlikely he is but if they’re genuinely experts they’d know not to make a diagnosis. Which is really the point you, a supposed (or at least self proclaimed) expert, seem to be completely missing.

Exactly, they'd say like with any criminal they need to test him to make their diagnosis or refer to people who have.

I’m still not getting why someone being a fan of a football player maybes them less able to discuss this case. One is a sport we love and the other well he’s a criminal. Sure Bailey might not be a Rhodes Scholar (name a footy player that is) but does it matter? Wouldn’t be the first supporter to like Bailey the footy player.

Josh Ward got a 99 atar and wants to be a supreme court judge when he retires from footy.

Hadn't plugged a Hawthorn player for no reason for a while, so thought it was time.
