We had the north vs Richmond debate on who is closer to a flag on the Footy Fan Network.

It’s an interesting one, I think they are closer currently but reckon we can surge past.

we're closer even if our list was completely empty with no players on it simply because we're Richmond and they're norf

Oy? The first of the two teams to win a flag is by definition the correct answer in this debate. The answer cannot be one team for now but the other will be the first to win the flag.

Disappointed in you Michaels. The correct answer is of course Richmond. No need to deviate from that.
hahaha that norf guy what a gimp

"we have more potential future stars" 🤪🤪🤪

what if we're like 14th with 6 weeks to go and in reach of a wildcard round spot after having knocked off one of the premiership favourites

do we go for it ? interested to hear peoples opinions

this season will be unlike any weve ever seen before
If we're already out of the running for one of the top 3-4 picks, given academy & FS selections will push them out even further, then I don't really see the difference in tanking for something like Pick 5 instead of Pick 8, so I think it will be better development for our young kids to try and push for finals.
Though I may change my mind depending on how the draft depth starts looking later in the year.
We never fully tanked before like Melbourne, StKilda or Carlton and we still won 3 flags, so I think winning culture takes precedence.

Michaels didn't need to say anything other than that. Well, maybe address them by their correct name, lolnorf.
michaels is too humble , needs to
get on the sauce for 6 months straight and he'll be spitting facts

Yep Michaels is like Milton the Monster.

Needs to get some mongrel in him. If he wanted to be nice just throw them a little crumb like they are possibly positioned better than Essendon, or something along those lines.

Can you lose coaching ability?
I lost the ability to root, so yeah, as all the professional coaching I have given it doens't work anymore. Come to think of it i was wondering how I seem to have more money in the bank! lol

Norf may not be winning spoons but they're miles off being a powerhouse
I really don't think so. It only takes one special player and the rest to click, and they will be ok. Look at Adelaide last season, even though they failed in the finals, they were a different team.

Tanking sucks and is detrimental to the club.

In our 3-in-4 premiership era, yes, Cotchin was pick 2 and Martin Pick 3, but Riewoldt was Pick 13, Vlastuin 9, Rance 19, Edwards 26, Houli originally 42, Astbury 35, Lambert, Grimes, Short, Castagna all rookie or mid-year picks, some smart trading (Lynch, Nank, Prestia, Grigg - yes, he was pick 19, but we traded him for a guy we originally drafted with pick 73).

The draft will provide you with skilful players, but then they have to learn how to play senior football. That's a big step.

Teamwork, coaching, club environment, club management, are all as important as drafting.

do we have as many really low picks on the list now as we did then ? could be go time in 2026

Teams tank thinking they can turn a winning culture on and off like a light switch. Would rather drill every game like a line in the sand moment even if it means not getting pick 1

All unless pick 1 is a messiah confirmed that also goes for richmond and will sign in blood for life

I recall a discussion with the North supporter back before the dynasty, about who would win their next flag first, I imagine the outcome this time will be similar :richmond::trophy::trophy::trophy: v :north:🥚
