There's a chance he's not happy come August, if he struggles in whatever position we throw him into. Because according to reports here, all of McKercher, Sheezel, FOS, Wardlaw (injury permitting), Parker and LDU will be preferred to him in the middle.

**** it, let's cut to the chase and just put out 23 midfielders every week. Can't concede scores if your opponents never have the ball. Or something

Why wouldn't he have just waited until August to resign then.

Flatlined?.. are you talking about the same guy as me ol boy?

Very strong rumour from years ago is that the 'flatline' literally happened. On a post season trip, the WCE party boys did even more than their usual quota of recreational drugs and after one such episode Chad was taken to hospital, flatlined there and was revived.

[consults with lawyer]: Umm, "allegedly".

Ah right thanks for clearing that one up mate. Went thru to the keeper at my end.

He enjoys being at the club. He's probably backing himself in to snag himself an ideal role. Also, waiting that long in a contract year usually invites needless media speculation, as opposed to the wholly necessary speculation we engage in on here

This shit annoys me.

These guys should be focusing on training properly not some superfluous, distracting bullshit.
Yeah, this pissed me off too.

But I place the blame squarely on the media team and the FD. You would hope this somehow skipped Clarko and Viney’s attention and won’t happen again.

I agree with every thing you say in this post hence why i think he has no intention in leaving.

Powell will do well to play a support role in our midfield. He has the ability to play a primary role if the club needs him to.

Puts our midfield in a position of strength to have someone like Powell or Simpkin as our 5th or 6th mid.

Neither do I, at this stage. Will be interested to see what the hierarchy looks like at the end of this year though. For midfield spots, Powell's competing against, frankly, blokes with better attributes than him

Yeah definitely.

There’s every chance Paul Connors initiated the extension talks on behalf of Powell, who’s made it clear he wants to stay, and the club obliged.
Has someone stolen his phone? Usually can't wait to steer his clients away from us.

Any idea what the contract is?

I don't think he will ever truly reach it. But I would love to see TP getting back closer to his pre-draft ball pig moniker - and actually damaging with it.
He has the skills to do it, just remains to be seen whether he can.

Not much mention of Powelly in yesterday’s match sim reports, but I thought he looked really good.
He was running hard to get into open space & made good decisions when he got the ball.
He attended some centre bounces, but was mainly playing that Steele Sidebottom role of roaming between the arcs to support our mids.
He is in our top few ball users when he has time & space IMO.
Also a couple of nice plays where he showed good poise & evasiveness in traffic.
His body has transformed from last season. He looks much trimmer & seems to be covering the ground better as a result. Looks super fit!

So good to read that, I've been critical of Powell, he has all the ability in the world. I feel he's coasted through his first 5 years or so.
Could he be the suprise packet of the year.

Agreed.

Good news. This period tends to be his peak most years but I'm happy to back him in to have a more consistent impact if he's thinner and moving better.

And that's after we initially told him to bulk up, which he did.

Stupendously run organisation, aren't we

They told him to get stronger. And given where he is playing now they have told him to cut some weight so he can run. None of that is unusual.

Seems unusual to me. Don't get him to the stage of extra weight in the first place. Unless you're saying he slacked off during the break

Having a great preseason and taking the move from the midfield in his stride, so credit to him. Seems to be a Mr. Fix it across HF, Wing and HB. A true utility.
