At his best, I think he is one of our most exciting players with his ability to find a teammate inside 50 with his pinpoint passes, unfortunately he is prone to the occasional miscue, if he can eradicate those, then he could be one of our best midfielders.

Comparing him to our worst tackler isn’t exactly convincing me Powell can tackle.

Yeah noted, but he's a bit of unit is T-Shirt. Lacks 1/2 a yard in pace, but you can tell he is trying to do the right things with the aggot.

I'd rather be tackled by Simpkins, Stephen (please), Duursmas (as if lol), Sheeze, HardMan, Larkey...

I said multiple times Phillips was nothing special but could play a role, you may of read probably many times in this thread me and multiple posters complaining about Tom Powell defensively, one thing you couldn’t fault will phill for was his defensive side, giving a point of difference in our very offensive side.

The only fact that matters here is that we have retained a quality AFL footballer with flaws, over a demonstrably sub-AFL ability footballer with some good traits. Lots of VFL footballers have good defensive games, but aren't up to the top level.

He spent a lot of time being the, trying to get us out of trouble Tom Powell. He played better with a decent tap ruckman, think Harry would too, so the new ruck rule may work to their advantage.

when he and Philips were drafted, I don't think many would have expected Philips would get the arse after 5 years and then Powell would get a 3 year extension. Good on him. We need him back to peak round 2 against Melbourne form, probably his best game.
