This is where things get kinda weird

The death reported yesterday, Michael Hurst, the 27yr old from Melbourne who died in the ski accident when he became seperated from his group and reportedly caught in an avalanche - is being reported as both the 2nd or 3rd Aussie death in Japan depending on the news source

We know the 2 deaths from the last few days which is what majority of the news sources have been running with, but then there was this from last month which I don’t recall hearing about at the time and there’s very little coverage of it when searching the name:

It has also emerged that an Australian teen died from asphyxiation after skiing into a rope on January 9.

Rylan Henry Pribadi, 17, was skiing at the Niseko Ski Resort in Kutchan Town, when he came into contact with a rope marking the course boundary, the ABC reports.

this is one of the few articles to detail all 3 deaths
